Building the future of code review @CodeRabbitAI Host of The Merge, Founder n-aible.com Sharing what I learn from founders, engineers, and open-source builders

San Francisco, CA
1/ Yesterday we hosted @typesafeai at our @coderabbitai HQ for Jev's first ever hackathon! 160+ builders. ~4hrs of hacking. Expert judges, Incredible energy. I also got to sit down with @allietheicon and talk about what Jev means for Coding, Software Development and the new paradigm shift you have to adapt when working with this new class of AI models. She shared some really helpful tips and examples of how to best work with Jev - I'll try my best to summarize some of them in this thread⬇️

160+ people hacked on Jev at our SF office 11 days after it launched. Best tip of the day from Allie Laabs: ask every question you might need in one call. We cover why, and more, in our latest blog post: coderabbit.ai/blog/the-merge…
Your agent doesn't know Jev. Most code calls LLMs the long way: state → prompt → text → parse → if statement Decision models like Jev skip the text and plug into your logic. Here's 30 minutes with @typesafeai's @allietheicon on building with it.

What if your if-statements could think? I sat down with TypeSafe’s Allie Laabs on The Merge to talk about Jev, decision models, and the habit coding agents still need to learn: ask your questions in parallel.

What if your if-statements could think?

Eleven days after TypeSafe launched Jev, Allie Laabs was at CodeRabbit's San Francisco office for the first Jev hackathon, which we hosted with TypeSafe. More than 160 builders spent about four hours

Spent the last 24 hrs adding the most amazing builds by builders from a recent hackathon hosted by @coderabbi x @typesafeai on Jev.Store There's so much happening around Jev that it's hard to keep up let alone know the good ones that are useful builds. Highlighting the top 5 from the hackathon in the thread. And if you're building something useful with Jev, submit on the site. Happy jevving!
Spent 48 hours straight building 🗂️ Jev.Store There’s so much hype around Jev (by @typesafeai) but if you dig deeper it’s mostly software slop or just plain ragebait. Decided to fix it. High quality projects and resources only. Come get inspired by the best builds on Jev!

Working with our eng team is truly incredible. CodeRabbit is leading the market in developer productivity (and little insider peak: Harjot is actually still shipping code to prod like a beast 🚢😄🤘)
What is happening inside @coderabbitai's engineering team feels unprecedented and is hard to explain to anyone on the outside. We have hardly grown as an engineering team, but we are shipping software 5–6x faster than we were six months ago. The world may not have seen productivity gains like this since the Industrial Revolution. We’ve had to rewire how we ship software as we speedrun through one bottleneck after another: agentic reviews, agentic validation, local resource constraints, collaboration bottlenecks, CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and so on. Every bottleneck we solve exposes the next. Processes that worked just a few months ago are already struggling to keep up. We are looking for passionate builders who want to help define how the industry ships software at scale. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of a team on a parabolic learning curve, encountering and solving problems that most other startups haven’t reached yet. If that excites you, I would love to hear from you. DMs are open!

Still thinking about the conversations from Fix My Agent 🩺 We brought builders together to talk through what it takes to make agents actually work beyond the demo: MCP reliability, secure actions, code review, model routing, and more. Huge thanks to our co-hosts @PostHog and @gmi_cloud, plus @mcpjams, @TryArcade, and @coderabbitai! Shoutout to our speakers @PrathmeshPatel_, @showmore234, @ptdamiba, and @HKrackDev. 🥳

thanks for the shout-out @sama & the @OpenAI team!
Your coding agent opened five more PRs while you were reviewing the first one. CodeRabbit is joining the OpenAI Marketplace, which means your existing OpenAI spend commitment can now cover independent AI code review. Let the agents keep shipping. We'll read the diffs. coderabbit.ai/blog/coderabbi…

Kudos to our amazing interns @coderabbitai - they killed this Hackathon!!!
we won 1st place @typesafeai's first ever Jev hackathon introducing Jevolution, a multi-agent ecosystem simulator where researchers can study endangered species without touching a single animal link: jevolution.world repo: github.com/utkarshg20-org/je… built with: @utkarshg20_ @xrhuang10

Looking forward to this one!
Tonight at HogPatch, the @posthog co-working space in SF, I'll be representing @TryArcade at Fix My Agent. Bring an agent problem, come over to the Arcade station, and get tips on how you could improve your agent. Governance, tool calling, execution hooks, MCP, all the fun stuff. I'll be joined by @PrathmeshPatel_ from @mcpjams, @HKrackDev from @coderabbitai, @showmore234 from @gmi_cloud, and @Courtneythko from @aivalleyio

Sonnet 5.5 actually feels different. Faster, smarter and more responsive… Checkout our benchmark results below ⬇️
Sonnet 5 overthought its code reviews. Sonnet 5.5 doesn't. Same 44 open-source PRs: > ~4× fewer output tokens per call > under half the input tokens > 6:33 per review, down from 13:31 > ~60% cheaper Precision held on the hardest subset. coderabbit.ai/blog/sonnet-5-…

Writing code is turning into the cheap part. Knowing which code should exist, which shouldn't, and why is where the value's heading, and Jev is the latest case of AI making those decisions instead of just producing output. You still have to think like a programmer. Just a few layers above the code!
Yesterday @coderabbitai didn't just host a hackathon, it was a Jevathon! Tired of having to think like a robot? Our favorite hacker review was: "Think like a programmer again" with @allietheicon

I had Sonnet 5.5 and Opus 5.5 build the Alpine Charlet head2head... Sonnet finishes 50% faster and the quality is just as good! We got to run it on our @coderabbitai bench and will share more results in very soon.
Introducing Claude Sonnet 5.5, the second model in the Claude 5.5 family. It’s a clear upgrade over Sonnet 5, runs more than 30% faster, and costs up to 30% less for most work.

Our interns @xrhuang10, @_nikhilhooda and Utkarsh helped me organize this entire event, managing ppl, answering q's while somehow finding the time to hack themselves. And then... independent judges picked them for 1st place 🏆 Couldn’t be more deserved. Absolute rockstars🤘👏🧡

3/ Speculative Prompting. One of Jev's coolest patterns: ask questions before you even know you'll need the answers. If 1 or 100 questions come back in roughly the same time, you can ask for every possible branch upfront. Then your code simply uses the answers it needs.
