Can journalists cover the White House fairly after being invited behind the scenes?
Meghan Hays discusses the controversy around White House dinner invitations and journalists attending events hosted by President Trump.
Her issue isn’t necessarily with journalists being invited it’s what happens afterwards.
“My issue is when these journalists go to something like this and all of a sudden they’ve had, like, love goggles on.”
She says journalists should be able to attend White House events and bring their families but argues that access shouldn’t affect their reporting.
“My issue is just when you don’t cover it fairly because you have been, like, bamboozled at these type of events.”
