As an actual son of two immigrants, I find it insulting and completely disgusting for someone to lie about their father's immigration status just for clout. That's as low as it gets, and cosplaying as a full first generation immigrant is just gross and disqualifying in my eyes.

REPORT 🚨: During CNN's Gubernatorial debate, Xavier Becerra stated that his parents "came to this country with $12". This is a line he has repeatedly used during his campaign for Governor. The only problem? His dad was born IN California, and the timeline is not adding up.🧵

Ay Gustavo - @GustavoArellano
If you’re wondering why the @latimes never picked up the story that Xavier Becerra has lied about his father being an immigrant, despite being born in California, is because the “journalists” there consider his dad an immigrant because he left then came back to California.

So now you can just feel like you’re an immigrant and be one? Facts are not something you can just “believe” away. You sound like a cultist.

PS I am not a Trump supporter. So you’re saying that the guy everyone in this state hates is the bar and Becerra didn’t meet it? How about stick to his record and not make everything orange despite him living rent free in your (lack of a) brain

NEW 🚨: California candidate for Governor Steve Hilton responds to my exclusive story, that Xavier Becerra lied about his 'immigrant family' story. "Unlike Xavier Becerra, I am an immigrant ... my father was an immigrant."
Unlike Xavier Becerra, I am an immigrant. Unlike Xavier Becerra, my father was an immigrant. My stepfather too. My whole family. Unlike Becerra (because I've been out there listening to the people), I know Becerra's policies have destroyed the California Dream. My plans will restore it. - More money in your pocket: Your first $150k tax free, $3.00 gas, $73 registration for your car or truck. - A home you can afford to buy: Cut government fees and regulations on new homes by $150k. - Relief for small business owners: Scrap $800 small business tax, stop FUTA taxes, end unfair competition from street vendors, end PAGA lawsuits. Xavier Becerra offers NOTHING. Because he is a smug, arrogant, machine politician mediocrity who is taking you for granted. Send him a message: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We are voting for CHANGE this year. ✊☀️

So does that mean @hasanthehun is an immigrant too? Or is he conveniently a citizen for this exercise?

That’s not what happened here though. The father came back in his teens not his 50s, firstly, and second, who gives a shit what his “feelings” are regarding a factual definition? What a cop out @GustavoArellano
