Why I left the Democratic Party — and why California voters should, too: 'The change among Democrats is due to the fact that young people are becoming more involved in politics. Remember, young people brought Hitler to power, and Castro, and Stalin. Young people still have pictures of Che Guevara, a murderer, on their college dormitory walls...We’re seeing the radical, anti-civil liberties left dominating campus.' nypost.com/2026/09/30/opinio…

One of my favorite songs and it only occurred to me today to look up the chords which were pretty simple, so I dusted off the guitar and was a little rusty but otherwise happy with the result. Dedicated to my beautiful wife @jennicheung - Only You by The Platters.

I don't care what you think, Steve Hilton is doing the work. I've never seen anyone this hands on, earnestly trying to earn people's votes. Holding a press conference inside someone's apartment? Banger. He looks like he actually wants to do the job.
Lifelong state workers just keep getting punched in the gut by Sacramento — gouging them from their pension to the pump. Becerra is more of the same machine — I’ll deliver $3 gas and put money back in working people’s pockets. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Rob Bonta changed the wording of Prop 36 and falsely claimed it would defund mental health and schools, and 68.4% of California voters saw right through it. California is waking up. Vote accordingly. Vote Michael Gates for Attorney General. #Gates4AG

Becerra's message in the debate last night: "if you're happy with the way things are in California, vote for me, I won't change a thing!"
This is @SteveHiltonx's first interview after @CNN's debate for California Governor: "It's very clear that @XavierBecerra has nothing specific, nothing concrete, nothing positive to say about how he'd change anything about what we're experiencing in California." Was he surprised by anything? "No. I totally expected him to blame President Trump for everything." Hilton says "this is not about what you have to say about national politics. This is about our policies here in California."

What once was the peak, is now just the beginning. Paramount and Warner Bros. shaped over a century of culture. By combining them, we aren't rewriting history — we're equipping these iconic studios with a more powerful engine. Together, we are Skydance: a creative-first home for bold, quality storytelling. We chose this name for a few important reasons. First and foremost, as we bring Paramount and Warner Bros. together, we wanted to preserve what has made each of these studios iconic. Both have distinct identities, extraordinary legacies and brands that have resonated with audiences for generations. We never wanted a new corporate identity to diminish, alter or overshadow either one. Instead, we wanted a name that would give the combined company an identity of its own while allowing Paramount and Warner Bros. — and all our extraordinary brands — to remain in the spotlight. We have big goals for Skydance, and we intend to pursue them with passion, imagination and a willingness to take smart risks. At the same time, we will honor what makes Paramount and Warner Bros. special — giving both studios the opportunity to grow, tell more great stories and bring those stories to even broader audiences around the world, powered by the scale and capabilities of Skydance. I couldn’t be more excited about what we’re going to build together.

California and America, What does it mean when you can get elected after your party destroys the state, gets caught stealing taxpayers’ money, mayors are facing corruption trials, some are caught sleeping with Chinese spies, some ARE Chinese spies... the public-sector unions who support this party count the votes. Voting fraud is rampant and obvious, and you don’t even have to campaign to win governor, attorney general, or any other major office. What does it mean when a party spends more per child on education that anyone else, but gets the worst results, while the teachers unions spend big time to continue this waste and celebrate the destruction of our children’s future, and still get elected? What does it mean when the same unions that get taxpayers’ dollars spend our money to ensure the side wins that will grant them bigger raises. Then pass laws that make it easier to cheat in elections. And we let them. What does it mean when you can track all the money in one party's sophisticated NGO ecosystem to foreign enemies, mostly China, and that party clearly idolizes China’s communist government over America’s constitutional republic? What does it mean to you? To me, it means that the enemy is inside the gates, and it’s time to address our union. We should all feel honored and privileged for this opportunity, for if we succeed, our names will be echoed into history alongside the founders and individuals before us who created this great nation. May God be with us all in the next turning.

I've met Anna- we've had several conversations- she listens, we listen to each other. We may not see eye to eye on everything, but there are no accusations, just two adults having conversations from opposite sides of the aisle coming together.
I uphold the same values I always did but I am not liking Becarra’s smugness one bit. I am not on fire about either gubernatorial candidate. I didn’t watch the debate- only snippets. I am flipping for Governor -California needs change. Having just run in the primary opened my eyes to what *** the Dems can really be like as a party - and the DSA is worse . The Dems got their claws into me young in the USA - this year was an eye opener. They can preach their ideals all they want but they don’t practice them. I Have endorsed Democrats on the slate though ! Bring in the feedback - makes no difference I have lived it and cannot unsee what I saw. I am endorsing @SteveHiltonx #midterms #stevehilton

Yikes dude. So does Xavier Basura really think all of California's problems magically go away when President Trump is out of office? We had that from 2021-2025...what happened to CA then? Why did everybody flee CA under the prior President? Who was in office when the Palisades burned down? What's Becerra's plan for the 2nd half of his term when there's a new President? This dude is a straight up NPC. Democrats need to do better. But they never will if they just keep winning on this "vote blue no matter who" mindset. The only way you get them to stop taking all our votes for granted is by handing them just ONE loss. Becerra is the perfect candidate to hand an L to, by the way. He's not a star like a Mamdani. He has no political future. If he gets an L on his resume, it doesn't hurt the democrat party in any way shape or form. Becerra is the perfect sacrificial lamb to hand Sacramento dems just ONE loss, let Hilton bring a little balance to the force, then dems will actually try to earn some votes next time and produce better candidates. We have the 4th largest economy in the world. We should be the vanguard of the western world. We deserve much better talent than this dork, Becerra. Even Susan Rice doesn't respect him. What did she call him? Bitch ass?
Asked about California losing roughly 50,000 film industry jobs, Becerra said California should offer tax credits to “keep Hollywood in Hollywood.” Hilton then asked: “Who’s been in charge” while film industry jobs have left California for other states? Becerra: “Donald Trump.”

On housing, Hilton proposes banning new apartment complexes in suburban neighborhoods and directing that construction to undeveloped land, arguing it would allow more housing to be built while avoiding neighborhood opposition.

To celebrate Bonehead Bob Bonta's jihad against Paramount crashing and burning in spectacular fashion, let's all enjoy this banger again. We were on the right side of this egregious abuse of the justice system from day 1. Great win for the biz.

In 1956, the dice in Cuba were loaded by the Mafia. In 2026, they're loaded by hunger. Nine people were arrested this week in a police raid on a clandestine gambling house in Matanzas. No chandeliers. No Lansky. No tuxedos. Just a back room, a stack of worn pesos, and nine Cubans betting on the only odds they had left. Gambling in Cuba today is nothing like it was in the 50s — and that difference is the whole story of the revolution in miniature. When Rolando Cubela Secades walked into the Montmartre cabaret on October 28, 1956, the casinos were cathedrals of a rigged system: Batista's generals on the take, American syndicates skimming the tables, the roulette wheel spinning over a country that couldn't afford a ticket in. Killing Antonio Blanco Rico in that gilded room was meant to be an act of surgical defiance — a bullet aimed at the house, not the players. The promise of Escambray, of the FEU, of the DR-13-M, was simple: tear down the casino, and the Cuban people stop being the mark. Seventy years later the casino is gone and the house still always wins. The state inherited the monopoly on the wheel, and the betting moved into kitchens and back rooms where a bolita slip is both a vice and a survival strategy. Cubela would live to see that arithmetic himself — the comandante who helped end one rigged game, recruited by the CIA as AMLASH to end another, sentenced to 25 years in 1966 by the very revolution he carried into Havana, and left to run out his decades in Madrid and Miami. The men cuffed in Matanzas aren't gangsters. They're the players, still at the table, still holding the losing hand the 1950s dealt them. The biggest indicator that my election was a finesse...was this tax. Measuer ER, a fat sales tax increase was on the ballot and LOSING on election night. Until, suddenly, all the ballots Nithya magically found after the election voted overwhelmingly in favor of a tax increase. Not income tax on rich people...a SALES tax, which is a regressive tax that overwhelmingly hurts low income & middle class people. When cost of living is the prevailing issue this election cycle, please explain this to me? All the downwardly mobile hipsters you think voted by mail at the last minute overwhelmingly voted for Nithya AND voted to raise taxes on themselves? LMAO.
Starting today, LA County ties for the highest baseline county sales tax rate in the entire United States at 10.25%. Lancaster and Palmdale, where many of my friends and people I know already struggle to make ends meet, sales tax is now 11.75% - the highest in the state. I still just don’t understand how we keep voting to continuously give more & more money to our local government while services continue to get worse, our politicians continue to give more of our money to their friends, and fraud goes unchecked. How does this actually help everyday Angelenos who have both mom and dad working and sometimes it’s not even enough to support their families? This is not helping our kids. It’s not making schools better. It’s not making roads better or helping with public transit. It’s not making us safer. It’s not making housing more affordable, or food, or gas or utilities. Why do we keep voting for more and more tax increases and worse and worse politicians?
