Jason’s getting flack for this, but I agree that this might be the move for some people.
It’s not blaming or excuses. The point is that if these things stress you out, there are other racing options out there for you.
Want to run a marathon PR? It might be strategic to AVOID a WMM.
One of my athletes just ran Berlin. Her problems:
- Huge time change, no adjustment
- Extremely long porta potty lines
- No area to warm up
- City race will impact GPS/early pace
- Too much walking pre-race
