I am not neutral.
I have my agendas. I am a propagandist. Everything I say is not necessarily the truth anymore. There are lies, selective biases, and deliberate omissions.
It is a conscious choice I have made. Not in a day, but after years of watching how society and politics function in India.
A choice I made when Modi brought the ordinance on GNCTD, because I realised I cannot afford to be a “neutral” “citizen” until India is captured through its institutions.
I have skin in the game. The air I breathe, the roads I drive on, these are more important to me than how some people perceive my political opinions.
I don’t fear expressing my politics anymore. I don’t care what it puts at stake. Not picking a side right now will kill me before anything else.
I have picked my side. I am unapologetic about it. I have no remorse about failing your neutrality test.
Do not expect me to speak against the political party I currently support. I won’t do it. I stopped doing this because my neutrality was of no use to me when Modi crossed the limits.
This is the part i am playing, which i think is more spiritual than political for me. The day India is free of Modi, I will go back to being a citizen.
Until then, COPE.
