It is my goal to absorb as much SF wealth as possible and redeploy it into culture creation. SF knows how to spend money on investment products and personal real estate. We will sell them those things and plow the proceeds into the creation of a post-AGI renaissance.
It’s incredible how much wealth SF entrepreneurs have created and how little of it has gone toward building culture. Where are the great museums, new architecture, music venues, public spaces? Silicon Valley should aspire to leave behind more than ephemeral software.

I’m finding for higher level questions with Ai, the limitation is not the reasoning ability of the model but faulty assumptions it uses based on incomplete information, a result apparently of resource limits on queries. So Astra will generate a wall of text that’s logical but a waste of time bc based on lazy search So for strategy or research problems I somehow have to intuit the scope limits of search and adjust expectations And there needs to be option for automatic fallback to a search api like Parallel or Exa in the event model approaches limits on a search and wants to be more complete

There’s really no way currently to know if the model did a good job searching or just got lazy. Not a rigorous system

You guys don’t fully appreciate how insidious the gender wars are about to get. The whole construct of men and women being able to harmoniously co-exist in today’s society is about to fall apart. And the most normal and well adjusted of both sexes are going to be caught completely by surprise since they are the ones who have generally paired up early on in their lives and haven’t been exposed to the rapid degradation of the traditional dance between the sexes. It starts with resentment and it ends with rage and destructive behavior. I keep trying to warn you guys. Clancy, Cornell, Clav - this is mild vs what is coming. Both sides are in for a rude awakening. Gen-z men trying to adjust by “locking-in” are going to eventually realize that the imbalance between women they deem worth wifing up and men pursuing those women is going to only worsen with time….more than offsetting any resource accrual. Women meanwhile are going to start drowning in testimonials about hitting the wall and the realities of hypergamy. Resentment will build. We will probably see Me Too 2.0 with 10x the force and it’s going to be met by a “kill woke” type response from the male side that will end in “believe no women without evidence” and “repeal the 19th” Pay attention.

I have a friend who is marrying rich. She is extremely sweet and gentle. She is going to be a great wife and mom. When she told me she got engaged, she was also speaking about how her fiance had said she didn’t have to work. She mentioned this almost in a whisper and said she felt bad. There was pressure coming from her (boomer) mother and an implication she was failing for choosing to be a stay at home wife and mom. She’s college educated after all! So I sold it to her as a privilege, as prestigious, as a responsibility. It’s high-class, wealth, status. Since then she’s quit her job to focus on the wedding and the marriage. Huge weight off her shoulders, she’s much happier. When she told me she quit her job she was again almost embarrassed but I just smiled and encouraged her. A lot of women are begging for permission to stop pretending they are a girl boss. They are driving themselves crazy because they don’t see a viable off ramp from the feminist girl boss indoctrination that allows them to save face socially. So when I get a chance I elevate this. I wonder how to do it at scale.

This is why pushing until you experience a big win at something is so important. In 1957, Dr. Curt Richter ran a wild experiment. He placed rats in water to see how long they'd survive. Despite being strong swimmers, many gave up and died within 15 minutes. The autopsies revealed that they didn't drown. Their hearts simply stopped in total relaxation. Trapped and helpless, their nervous systems suffered a fatal parasympathetic shutdown (vagal death). They literally died of hopelessness. Then, Richter changed one thing. He rescued the rats right before they gave up, dried them off, and placed them back in the water. The result? They swam for 60+ hours. A single rescue changed their entire biology. The "hope" of survival fired up their ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC), which acted as a safety switch, blocking the massive serotonin surge that causes a brain to "freeze" and give up.
After inescapable electric shock, animals later fail to escape even when escape is possible. Giving serotonin precursors (tryptophan or 5-HTP) produced or worsened that escape deficit, blocking even some serotonin receptors with methysergide (5-HT2 antagonist) prevented it. Introducing JEV-27B-VL. We believe it is the world’s first open-weight, near-SOTA multimodal decision model — built with AutoTrust AI’s Blocks of Experts (BoE) recipe. It does not just describe what it sees. It turns visual state into calibrated action probabilities, then selects what to do next. In this demo, it sees Mario’s position, movement, obstacles, and timing — then chooses whether to run, jump, or do both. See → decide → act.

The effectiveness of libtard doxing campaigns would be entirely neutered if not for "groypers". Doxed rwers now get lawyers, shows, jobs, etc. Used to not be this way, but we learned perhaps with Mackey If not for groypers, who now are the sole source of harassment and inconvenience for the doxed RWers that they incessantly gossip about. Ask them to name rw posters they hate and they will all be people doxed by leftists, which they eagerly spread everywhere and continue their own little investigations. Today if you get doxed you can assume 2 things: modest but reliable support from the right, and groypers calling your mother threatening to rape her or something. Leftists likely would stop doxing entirely out of pointlessness were it not for these attack dogs Something to consider

Money is not an outcome I need from writing. Fame is good. Fame is good because it makes people read the stuff, and it impresses Susannah. But readers are the outcome, not fame per se. Fame is for the single man. Fame is to get invited places and get pussy. So I could give the next book away for free. I’m afraid self publishing is dead. First- no publisher could sell my book. What I offered a publisher was my ability to sell books, which is gone. My Savage Spear of the Unicorn promotion for three dollars has sold one book. Wait no two. Back in the day a pinned tweet begging for RTs would sell a hundred books. Part of it is not having a new book for six years. Part of it is Savage Spear is the least marketable title. I should have just called it The Unicorn. But Twitter as a tool to sell anything but tweets themselves about tech and AI, real estate, business, entrepreneurship, whatever, is done. Twitter as a sales tool is done, and so to sell books, or promote writing in general, we will need to discover new tools. Which is scary. Or would be, if I needed money. 100K twitter followers could sell you a book. Now it can’t. The people bitching about Twitter are right. It was better when the trans terrorists could censor you and get you banned. Because as long as that didn’t happen, people could see your posts. There really is something with the algorithm. Tech captured the content and the money coming from it, and then people who inherited Bay Area real estate captured the money from tech. OK. All I wanted from this was to become able to write good stuff, and then to have some people read it. There’s nothing more to get.
