When I started running in 2011 I couldn’t run a mile continuously.
In 2013, I broke 6 minutes in the mile. It was a huge accomplishment for me.
In April 2026, I ran 6:22/mi for 26.2 miles.
I skipped a few steps in the middle there—many forward and some back—but when I started this journey, running the Boston Marathon did not seem like something I was capable of ever doing.
Sometimes it feels like this came naturally to me. Days like today remind me that I worked so hard to get here.
