Resets all propagated. That will be all. Have a fantastic weekend.

@thsottiaux This reset actually put me in a worse position. I still had 45% of my weekly usage left, and my normal reset was only around 3 days away. So in reality, I had 45% left now, plus another 100% coming in 3 days. That’s basically 145% of a weekly allowance available to me over the next few days. But after this reset, I’m back at 100% and my next weekly reset has been pushed all the way to 7 days from now. So instead of helping, this actually reduced what I would have had available from 145% to 100%. I basically lost that remaining 45%, even though this was supposed to be a compensation/reset. It would have been much fairer to reset the usage without changing the original weekly reset date, or just add the extra usage separately. Please look into this for people whose reset dates got pushed back.

The Tibo rest came in almost immediately after I received my natural weekly reset. When it happened I was barely at 97%.

I agree, I don't understand why they always reset and changes the weekly reset dates as well. Because this will only cause heavy loading to the server while everyone is on the same reset date.

But if they reset on Tuesday for DevDay you are good about 4 days from now

That’s not really the point though. Even if they reset again on Tuesday, this reset still pushed everyone’s weekly reset date back and wiped the benefit of the quota people had saved. Some of us were only 2 or 3 days away from our normal reset. We shouldn’t have to depend on another possible reset just to get back what we were already due to receive.

Without resets we would have 4 x100% 🤷‍♀️ I can tell you I’ve used more than 4x100% in the last month.

You’re talking about total usage over a month, which is a different point. Extra resets may have let you use more than 400%, but that doesn’t change the fact that this reset wiped remaining quota and restarted the weekly clock. More resets overall does not mean nobody lost usage in this specific reset..

Mine reset this morning and I didn't get a chance to even use it by the time he did the reset

I think you have to look at both cases over 10 days. You could have used 145% over 10 days. Now you can use 100% over 7 days then could theoretically use the next 100% in 3 days. 200% in 10 days. And maybe you'll get another reset before those 10 days are over. Tibo often announces ahead of time when he's gonna do it. If you can find a productive way to burn the extra before hand then you're even better off.

You’re changing the comparison window to make the reset look better than it actually was for my situation. Before this forced reset, I still had 45% of my current weekly limit left, and my normal weekly reset was only 3 days away. That means I could use that remaining 45% first, then receive a fresh 100% on my normal reset date... That is up to 145% of usable quota across that period. After the forced reset, I was put back to 100%, but my weekly reset date was pushed all the way to 7 days from now.. So the 45% I still had was effectively wiped out, and the next 100% was delayed. Your 200% over 10 days only works because you extend the time window until after the new reset happens. That does not change what happened to the quota I already had available under my original schedule. And “maybe there will be another reset” cannot be used as part of the argument. That is hypothetical. You cannot count an unannounced future reset as if it is guaranteed compensation.. My point is simple: I had 45% remaining plus a scheduled reset in 3 days. After the compensation reset, I had 100% but had to wait 7 days for the next scheduled reset. For someone in my position, that reset reduced the amount available under the original schedule instead of adding to it..

They don't get it. They don't understand that they are fucking some users with their resets. Resets only help people who use all of their allowance heavily early on, but they fuck people who store them for later in the week for whatever reason. Makes it impossible to plan usage.

I have a similar but way worse situation: My reset time should have been next Tuesday and now it becomes next Sunday. I have 96% left and now it was 100%--so I got about 4% usage for 5 days. What a scammer trick!

They need to add a "vault" system> if you have X% left and usage resets, that X% gets saved as a banked reset for you to use whenever + they need to stop pushing dates when resetting. Also more usage...feels like claude gives me more usage on the $20 plan than gpt on Pro x5 :/

They know and don’t care. Just be smart with banked resets and accept OAIs resets as they come is all you can do.

perhaps they should offer a reset and everybody could decide if they want it or not

Same for me I had 56% weekly usage and 3 days left. Wtf! Should have been a banked reset.

Same situation, was using opus while i held off and was just about to set up codex on the other laptop so i could have both running again, now this bungles my plans and i have to rethink my week, waste of money too

Agreed. Compensation shouldn't leave users worse off. Resetting usage while keeping the original renewal date, or adding a separate bonus allowance, would be much fairer.

The problem is that it doesn't take our requests into account; why not simply reset the bank balance to a maximum of 4? That would be more logical than leaving it random.

Mine actually reset on its own yesterday, and I'd only used 4%, but then it got bumped back up to 100% at 2 AM.

Poorly timed for me as well a banked woulda been nice. Oh well it wasn't terrible for me.
215
ohhh, monkeys finally come to conclusion, that juice from open ai can give you 17 rests per month and still you will end with 3/4 of usage of monthly subs. without juice help

You’re mixing hypothetical future resets with the quota many of us actually had. Many users still had remaining usage and a scheduled reset only a few days away. After the forced reset, that remaining quota disappeared and the next weekly reset was pushed back. If those extra resets aren’t guaranteed, they don’t belong in the calculation.

Global reset sounds great until your personal clock gets nuked

Totally agree

我有完全一样的问题,而且比你更糟,我 2 天后重置,本来还有 60%。下周开始时工作量会很大,我是故意留的这部分用量。现在完全被搞砸了

Yeah that’s actually worse. You purposely saved that 60% because you knew you had a lot of work coming up, and your reset was only 2 days away. So you were about to have 160% available, but now it’s just 100% and another 7 day wait.

Same here. This is honestly disgusting. He knew perfectly well that today was everyone’s weekly reset day, and he still chose to do this. This isn’t compensation or an apology for the Codex outage at all.

Yeah, I get why you’re frustrated. For me the main issue is just the reset date getting pushed back. Some of us were only 2 or 3 days away from a full reset, so this ended up making the situation worse instead of better. I don’t think anyone needed to be blamed personally, but the way this reset was handled definitely needs another look..

lol yeah, pretty much 😅 I was supposed to get something extra from this, not lose the 45% I already had before my next reset. Resetting the usage is fine, pushing the reset date back is what messed it up.

That makes a lot of sense, and the consumption rate is extremely fast after the reset (even faster than before).

5

Exactly, I noticed the same thing. My usage is draining noticeably faster after the reset, which makes pushing the next weekly reset back even more frustrating..
393
Yeah, the reset mechanics they have are not as generous because the weekly limit is pushed out. The way to currently benefit from them the most, is a gambit: You have to crank up your usage past your average daily budget; the more the better. If you 'save it', like you did, you get rekt.

Mine reduced from 200% to 100% ( today was planned reset)
