I thought black ppl were intentionally poorly educated going back to the days when slaves weren’t allowed to read. And I believed poor education was the main reason for the poor outcomes, and that many did crimes (that were still their fault to be clear) because they felt the other paths had too small of a chance for success. In doing so they created a culture that made this alluring to ppl who would’ve otherwise preferred other alternatives. I still knew kids who had other alternatives, but since the culture praised criminality they went that direction. So there was never actually a time I placed zero blame on black ppl, but I did think white people had set us up to have it way more difficult and only a small number cared at all to help fix it.
