I took my 12 years of PRE-AI experience in software engineer, and wrote a 380-page book: The Strategic Software Engineer. But then I did so much more: Announcing the Strategic Software Engineer Bundle: Everything you need to become the engineer remote teams pay $100k+ for.

something bamboo’s team couldn’t do they did😂. saw a screenshot where they had 37k db requests and response time was still 26ms. you can talk about their UI being vibecoded but the app logic was definitely not

Brother unless you are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on infrastructure this does not matter. Again, monolith. If Chowdeck is spending more than $5,000 in hosting costs a month sack the entire team please 😭
also If one side of your app experiences much heavier traffic consistently then it makes sense to extract it to a separate service that you can scale appropriately

I will die on this hill. Not even apps like Chowdeck should be microservices. Monolith all the way. Argue with your CTO
Service-to-Service Failure You have two backend services: Service A: Order Service Service B: Payment Service When a user places an order, Service A creates the order and then calls Service B to process the payment. Question: What could happen if Service B successfully processes the payment, but the response never gets back to Service A because of a network failure? How would you design the system to handle this scenario without charging the customer twice?

You just need to validate that amount is a number. Apart from that everything is great. Please deploy and share link to app 🙏🙏
Devs ! Whats missing in this?

When I say build evidence, you will not listen. CEO wants to hire someone to maintain their open source AI agent. Guess what my portfolio project was this year ? An open source AI agent exactly like this, but more powerful. With desktop app, sandboxes, RAG, connectors. Build the evidence, have something to show that you are extremely competent, then hustle hiring managers with that evidence and you automatically stand out from the crowd. I have preached. Now go to the ends of the world and execute.
Thinking about hiring full time to work on Junior (and similar projects at Sentry). if you're interested in that, and have prior experience here, shoot me a DM with creds. Ill probably be a little slow to respond, and this is opportunistic so I'm not looking to hire someone who isn't a default fit, but itll be a fun gig if you've spent a bunch of time on agents/dev tools/dev infra.

If you like know 50 more technologies. Completely useless. The formula is simple: What value can you provide to a business ? And what evidence do you have as proof that you've actually provided that value before ? If you don't have these two things, just dey go
I know React, Next, Node, Express, Nest Do I have a shot at @Meta or I need to add more weapons?🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Yeah it's amazing marketing. Pay 1,000 influencers and marketing firms to flood the internet with IPO news starting 6 weeks before scheduled date. Your initial shareholders cash out, and thousands of people now hold your bags. It's so simple but incredibly effective.
People are treating this dangote IPO thing like it’s 2012 bitcoin

It's actually quite simple. 1. Learn all the things 2. Create your own experience 3. Create a tiny amount of value for any real business with your experience 4. Get a job. You know the problem? Simple != Easy Stay grinding.
People on x be like 1. Learn HTML . 2. Learn CSS. 3. Learn JavaScript 4. Get your first job which job?😂

You can just build things with no one's permission. And all of a sudden getting a remote job does not look so impossible, because you can actually stand out in the midst of 3,000 applicants.
Designed a URL shortener that handles 100 million requests/day , built and tested it in a sim tool.

Bring this nonsense to tech. If you like draw Chinese characters. Completely useless cover letter 😂😂😂 --- No one cares what you learned, only what you did, and what the impact of what you did was.

Everyone except the intern is at fault. If you know anything about engineering culture and processes, you'd know I'm right.
CEO: Guys, the app is down. Backend Engineer: What changed? Frontend Engineer: Nothing from my side. Backend Engineer: Nothing from mine either. DevOps: I didn’t deploy anything. CEO: So who broke production? Everyone suddenly becomes very quiet. Intern: I changed something yesterday. Everyone: WHAT DID YOU CHANGE? Intern: The backend base URL. DevOps: … Backend Engineer: … CEO: … Assume yourself as the CEO will you get the guy sacked or not ?

I think you should continue on your journey bro. Where you dey go, you never reach 😂
Since I started my journey as a front end developer, I can boldly say this, someone who hasn’t been a designer or have a strong visual prowess cannot succeed as a front end developer.
