I posted about Scrolling Tabs in Atlas, and the way I use my browser now has changed. I never close tabs. They just overflow off to the right. But something I didn't really appreciate when we were developing this was how amazing this feature is in concert with Cmd+Shift+A...

Now, I can just use Tab Search to find again a tab that I know I used to have in view, and because I haven't closed my tabs, it means all of my tabs are available to Tab Search without my workspace being cluttered up. Cmd+Shift+A across my browsing history really...

Then the icing on the cake is Cmd+Ctrl+Shift+LeftArrow to move the tab to the leftmost / first spot in the tab strip. Now that tab is suddenly brought back to the fore with all of the other tabs I've been recently working with. This really has changed how I use my browser.

Glad to finally be able to share Atlas with the world last week! There's a lot of novelty under the hood. While Atlas is using Chromium, it's not built on top of Chromium in the usual way, which I think is pretty darn cool: openai.com/index/building-ch…

Arc Search is growing rapidly – went from zero to six figure DAUs in 4 months – and we're looking for super senior Android engineers❣️ Open to contract and contract-to-hire too, in addition to full-time. Please DM me if that sounds like you! Original technical challenges too: architecting an Android app that's written in Kotlin & uses native Android UI BUT interoperates with the cross-platform Swift libraries we use on ios, mac, and windows. HMU!!!

It's been a fascinating project bringing up Arc on Windows. Thanks to #pointfree's work on TCA, we've been able to readily share a remarkable amount of code across macOS and Windows using Swift -- all while building out a truly native UX powered by Win UI 3.
Arc on Windows is finally here. No more waitlists, no more betas. Download Arc today.

yo, i hate to say this but today's the day i admit writing a windows browser in swift using winui was too ambitious. we'll be re-writing arc in c# using winforms. it's the only way to make arc reach all windows users. first release will support windows xp. stay tuned for updates

It turns out ordering bananas remains an unsolved problem. Ask for 7, and they give you 7 *bunches*. Ask for 2 bunches, and they just give you 2 lonely bananas. What is going on here??

Of course none of those details were by themselves enough to justify a decision to choose to use Chrome. But together they represented an ethos of care for the total consumer experience that we liked and people seemed to appreciate. [6/6]

I’m so proud of this team! Big day today as our first Windows beta invites go out. It's also a big day for the Swift on Windows! Arc on Windows is built in Swift, and shares a majority of its code with macOS. Our codebase is also now cross-platform, making future ports easier!
It starts today. The first Arc on Windows beta invites are out - and yours is coming soon. 💥 isarconwindowsyet [dot] com

So sad how buggy and unusable chromecast has become. What was once so amazing is now an exercise in frustration.
