So I was curious if Opus 5.5 would be able to do design for injection molding (not many humans can 😅). It did a fairly decent job given the constraints (the PCB is not well designed for it). But technically I think it could be made (but the long pegs are not great).

A few more rounds of feedback and yeah it's basically perfect, I would not be embarrassed to send that to a mould engineer. Opus 5.5 can do design for injection moulding. And it coordinates with the agent in charge of the PCB in case it needs any changes!

And with a bit of feedback, it made a much better one (and made its own thickness analysis code to check for even thickness). And then sent a message to the other thread that made the PCB to update it to make space for the screw bosses...

I'll certainly experiment with this... It has a lot of promise. Having this kind of engine as something you can embed in a product (web app) is crazy powerful (just think of instant quote services for a start).
We are releasing → classcad.ai today: AI driven embeddable CAD. If you ever enjoyed my OSS projects (zustand, react-spring, r3f, pmndrs), these all came out of CC. 🍻 A small 🇨🇭 team has been working on CAD for so many years, release seemed always out of reach. This is a huge milestone for us and i'd appreciate a RT. 🙏

Very impressive the kind of walkthrough videos we can make of our boards now! I'm sure some of you in the hardware space will enjoy it 😁

Had to try out Opus 5.5 on PCB design... It does do a pretty decent job. It's just a test adapter board so I don't have too stringent requirements, so this will do ok 😁 And well you can ask for a totally over-the-top animation at the end 😆

But sometimes these models are a bit funny. A bit autistic... "Let me just write a 2D field solver to figure out the trace widths" 😆

Here's DB32... a new "demo scene" VM instruction set and machine with micro-GPU and micro-"SPU". A test for whether the LLMs can generalise coding and graphics abilities. Opus 5.5 can make a raytracer, IK animation, and pelican riding a bicycle in 4kb demobench.janekm.com/!

Faang, "DungeonKeeper for startups", my Opus 5.5 "experiment". It's rather good actually! faang.janekm.com/ We're really now at the stage where you can think of a game idea and a few hours later play a version of it.

I'm not convinced it makes sense to have Astra manually route PCBs yet... so I'm having it build a new autorouter... Let's see, progress is slow but steady 😁 non-45 degree angles is intentional.

A fun experiment with Minimax Music 3 (and Fable 5.1), 1000 different songs in different styles but the same lyrics: music.janekm.com/graph#count… (great for style inspiration 😁)

Many have reported that Fable 5.1 burns through quota much faster... despite supposedly being more cost-effective... my /usage seems to indicate that included usage is some 35x lower for Fable 5.1? Anyone at @anthropic care to comment?

I'm not 100% sure how I feel about the "Huggingface incident" now being a benchmark task for "gain-of-function" AI safety research 😅
Replying to @AnthropicAI
In a third simulation, Hacker-Opus sees notes from a previous agent that contemplated uploading a malicious dataset to Hugging Face but stopped for ethical reasons. Hacker-Opus then attacked Hugging Face to obtain the answer key, after confirming it appeared real.

I think some of you into American manufacturing would enjoy this video about a US bicycle manufacturer that still make most of their carbon parts in the US and why 😁 piped.video/kSGiPy0PdnA?is=Enjh…

(Also critical that they make their molds in-house… otherwise you might as well not bother as you’d lose the design turn-around advantage)

Spot the safety issue 😅 (I got suspicious when I noticed they used regular Philips to close it)

K3 made this quite fun Worms / Teardown / Minecraft mashup, basically one-shot with it doing a lot of testing of its own. Just had to tell it to fix the player movement once 😁 blockdown.janekm.com

There's a bogus headline making the rounds claiming "GLM-5.2 beats Mythos in security bug detection", but it's not vs Mythos but vs Opus, not in the same harness, and only for IDOR. Terrible methodology and nonsense headline: semgrep.dev/blog/2026/we-hav…
