I'm building a Pokédex for the real world. Fully offline - camera, mic, GPS. Point it at a bug, bird, or plant: it IDs on-device and logs to your field journal. No cloud, no account, no subscription. Building it for my kids and I to explore the world together. Follow along!

For context, this was the old Ryan Field, which was basically just some metal bleachers.
This is how Northwestern took the field for its first official game in the most-expensive stadium in college football history.

The level at which Meta is being open when it comes to Muse is wild

Crazy that it takes the same amount of time to fly to the space station as it does to fly from the US to Europe
Welcome aboard! 🙌 After nearly eight hours in flight, Crew-13 arrived at the @Space_Station, where they will spend the next several months conducting experiments on science and tech to benefit life on Earth and in space.

Kudos to OpenAI and @hollllyli for responding quickly and putting out this demo. Live demos are hard, and keeping it cool on such a massive stage is no easy task. I kinda like the subtle shaky cam, tbh
dots demo. Now... with better WiFi.

why every week with every model release the first week is “omg this is gonna change the world” and then just like three days later it becomes “urggghh this model can’t do sh****” Why does this seem to happen every single time? Do we just get acclimated to new models that quickly or do they literally degrade after just days. Some days it feels like AI has come insanely far, other days it still feels like we’re at the same technical ability of these models as we were a year ago. Make it make sense.

it’s so over
Introducing Griffin, the first model to pass the video Turing test. 48% of people who talked to it live thought it was a real human. Previous systems have had a pass rate <3%. It is #1 on NVIDIA's benchmark for full-duplex AI video. It’s the first Human Interaction Model (HIM).
Community note
The 48% figure and "video Turing test" claim are from Tavus's own study of 54 one-minute calls, not independently verified or using a standard protocol. Griffin-Lite leads NVIDIA's VideoFDB benchmark on their public leaderboard. cellcog.ai/blog/tavus-gri… research.nvidia.com/labs/amri/proj… tech-ish.com/2026/10/02/tav…

I love this new generation of smart hyper-specific hardware, especially ones that allow younger generations to experience the benefits of technology without getting addicted to a screen. If you’re working on this too, reply below. I’m starting a community.

This device is exactly what I was dreaming up when I starting working on “Scout” last month, and takes it even further in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Tech that forces us outside and gets us looking at the real world is what I’m all about. Love this!

Whomever thought of the Modretro deserves a raise. Incredibly cool. The console comes with a blank cartridge and you will literally build the game with Codex and load it onto the device. 😏
