I’m often sneeringly accused by all sides of being ‘obsessed’ with the rise of trans. And it's true that for the past few years I’ve not been commissioned to write on much besides. Consequently, I’m now one of a handful of journalists to become expert in the issue. 1/3

There were two marches at Cable Street today. One was made up of Jews, many of them descendants of the original people who fought fascists in Cable Street 90 years ago, and our allies. The other one was made up of people who are the new Jew haters. Even as they entered the park they were screaming ‘Zionism is fascism’. This group had been rowing as an anti Zionist Jew among them asked them not to attack Jews from the first march. So they started chanting ‘Zionism is fascism’. As I tried to film them they turned on me. They said I had to stop filming and I explained I was a journalist and free to film them. They looked at my Star of David and said, ‘You aren’t a journalist, you are a Zionist.’ When I explained I was both a journalist and a Zionist they turned on me. Screamed ‘Zionism is racism’. They surrounded me with their tarpaulin which said - the irony - ‘no Pasaran’ and they tried to shove me away. One man tried to body push me away with his chest. A steward with a ‘stand up to racism’ high vis jacket poked me with her placard. When I remonstrated with her she told me, ‘if I wanted to hurt you, you wouldn’t get out of here alive.’ People there kept telling me I had to leave. An event which was meant to be about a famous fight against antisemitism became a hostile place for Jews. The keffiyeh-wearing idealogues are hateful Jew haters.

Apparently @GussieGrips talking - over Zoom - about incontinence experienced by women in a fringe meeting at Green Party Conference was so awful, these men organised a display of their unhappiness with a big flag. Elaine can be heard at the end discussing urinary incontinence
The Green Party activists describe me unfairly. I was invited to speak in my professional capacity, the naysyers themselves acknowledge that women’s pelvic health is “a serious and important issue”. I’m notorious cubed, apparently. Am off to play some Duran Duran.

I was going to dash out a piece on the protest against @GussieGrips but I really need to crack on with my prep for Tory conference where I’ll be talking on a panel about the Conversion Practices Bill.

Been looking at Stonewall's income (the sources of which are no longer public) and staffing numbers. £11.5m in 2019 to £4.7m in 2025. Anyway, happy Saturday.

A while back an automated email invited me to click the link for tix to see a film about the miners strike at a local indie cinema. And I nearly clicked. Because indie miners strike films at indie cinemas is my thing. But it isn’t. Now. Because I don’t believe men are lesbians and I think women should have the right to single-sex refuges from male violence. And too many indie miners strike film people decided that was actual fascism. And sometimes, even years later, that still feels discombobulating. As, I guess, it’s meant to. Anyway, to the many marvellous people who’ve wandered into my life since, absolutely every word of this ⬇️ Because, let’s be honest, the other lot are absolute wankers.

@GudrunKugler @betti_reiter @EGG_OE Fotos: @ChristianHoegl

Editing an excellent piece. The contributor has written 'terf' in lower case; I usually write 'TERF' in capitals, as it's an acronym and I like the reminder of its slur-laden feminist origins. But neologisms such as 'terfery' look ridiculous as 'TERFery'. So I’ll put it to readers: which is better?

I can't get over this clip from the Jazz Jennings show. The two smaller boys are aged 15 and 17, yet they could pass for pre-teen girls. Their puberty was blocked, and they're talking about getting a "vagina": a constructed sexual orifice that will allow men to penetrate them. It all makes sense when you know that this ideology was concocted by a pro-pedophile sexologist named John Money who believed that gender identity was tied to *literal* sex roles or positions, IE, sexual receptivity, and took photos of 6 year-old boys engaging in "sexual rehearsal play" with each other. Early research from sexologists involving "gender identity" in children saw adults ranking the sexual attractiveness of children as young as six years old. The boys were rated as "pretty" while the girls were rated as unattractive.

Thank you @jo_bartosch for this great post on @TERF_Times. We love your wit and indeed the situation is laughable if it were not so serious. In 2026 women defending our rights, (established in EqAct2010) are excluded from political participation! Shame on @TheGreenParty.
