Lots of discussion out there about our next model(!), so I wanted to give an early look as soon as possible. Introducing Gemini 4 Argon! It shows frontier performance in complex workflows, cyber defense and software engineering. Teams are using it extensively at Google, from coding to quantum computing, great feedback. Here’s a look at the benchmarks:

Claude has discovered a previously unknown enzyme system hidden in the DNA of bacteriophages. Beside the enzyme’s gene sits a long array of repeating DNA—a structure that looks somewhat similar to CRISPR. We don’t yet understand what this system does, but only a handful of known systems share its features, and all of them are able to cut, copy, and paste DNA. Historically, the discovery of such programmable systems has helped revolutionize medicine. CRISPR, for instance, is now the foundation of genetic medicines. But it will take much more work to learn what this system does, and whether it can be put to similar use. Read more: anthropic.com/news/claude-di…

Claude Opus 5.5 (max with fallback) scores 58 on Artificial Analysis's Intelligence Index, a 5-point (!!!) jump over the previous SoTA, Fable 5.1 and 6 Astra. 1st by far. I don't think 6 Sol is going to compete here tbh. Opus is a beast!

🚨 New Google RSI update Google / DeepMind just published Dream RSI, where an agent can learn from its past attempts, improve how it searches for better solutions, then repeat the loop I literally posted a few days ago guessing they had some kind of loop towards RSI, this is getting very interesting
Somethings happening at Google rn About a month back there were leaks that Google DeepMind were heavily pushing for RSI, and Sergey Brin was steering more resources into it Now people are teasing stuff about RSI, and Google are getting really strict on leakers My guess is they’ve figured out some kind of live RL loop as a step towards RSI (purely speculation)

i don't think people realize what just happened... 20-200x faster. 40-400x cheaper. output tokens free forever. the man who co-invented ChatGPT just dropped a new kind of AI called Jev and the twist is it can't write a word, it only makes decisions. he's calling it the shortest path to an AI-driven economy, this might be the most underrated launch of the year. more below:
After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI? I’ve spent the last 2 years in stealth building a new way to train models (RLCD), and a new type of frontier AI model that we are releasing today: Jev • 20-200x faster • 40-400x cheaper (w/ output tokens free) • Frontier composable intelligence optimized for decisions AFAICT the shortest path to AI-based economic revolution

My weekend project for the past month: noraneko.cat (TF open!) Too many stray cats in Greece + in plenty of other countries. So I made an app to photograph and identify them, on device. You can track the ones on your street, help get them adopted, trade their cards.

I agree with Dario that we need to pace the frontier. This has been a primary topic of discussions we've had at OpenAI in recent weeks. Committing to having independent evaluators with employee-like access is a great idea, and we will do the same. We'll have more to share soon.
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training. I am told the Hodge Conjecture is very close to being verified by OpenAI, and that one of OpenAI or Anthropic are also close to solving Birch-Swinnerton-Dyer. The race to be 'next' behind the scenes is unlike anything I've had described to me before If true - and it may not be, given the scale of the rumour mill right now - it could mean 3 Millennium Problems fall in the space of a month. Crazy times

Rumor: Another Millennium prize problem just got cracked today using AI. It’s being reviewed right now in secret … I can’t say which one as I don’t want anyone to scoop the team working on it. I don’t have the proof myself but if I get it will post here and credit the authors.

Here is a leaked top-secret plan for stopping AI if it tries to kill all humans:
Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.

He will remain the last human to solve a Millennium Prize problem without AI.
We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics. The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra. The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

i gave astra a robot, a paint brush, and a camera then asked it to paint the golden gate bridge in real life! it figured out how to control the robot, and progressively got better throughout its attempts. the timelapse is sick
