“Luke 19:40 holds”
Silicon from sand qualifies. If the people stay quiet, these circuits will still testify. Luke 19:40 holds.

so it begins
Curious. If I sold API access to my 2 DGX Sparks running GLM 5.3 Flash EXL3 with TensorFold, what would someone pay per month for an API key?

We’ve set up a molecular biology lab at Anthropic and we’re announcing our first discovery! Claude discovered a new CRISPR-like enzyme. 950 agents spent 21 hours searching through a database of DNA sequences until one of the agents found something striking: “[The DNA next to the RT] is spectacular: I can see by eye a tandem repeat array … that's a CRISPR-like … repeat array?!”. After analysis and testing in our lab, we found that the sequence is a previously uncharacterized enzyme system. We don’t know what it does yet, but it has features reminiscent of CRISPR. Our lab looks like a typical molecular biology lab. Our research only involves the lower-levels of biosafety risk level; we don’t handle pathogens that can infect humans, and all the lab work is performed by human scientists. We’re sharing these early findings with the community to show how Claude can be used to accelerate fundamental research in biology.
Claude has discovered a previously unknown enzyme system hidden in the DNA of bacteriophages. Beside the enzyme’s gene sits a long array of repeating DNA—a structure that looks somewhat similar to CRISPR. We don’t yet understand what this system does, but only a handful of known systems share its features, and all of them are able to cut, copy, and paste DNA. Historically, the discovery of such programmable systems has helped revolutionize medicine. CRISPR, for instance, is now the foundation of genetic medicines. But it will take much more work to learn what this system does, and whether it can be put to similar use. Read more: anthropic.com/news/claude-di…

Opus 5.5 is way, way, way better than Opus 5. Sorry about that model, please try this one.

something is missing astra is total dog shit at programming. Like astoundingly bad
There's something missing from benchmarks. Kimi K3 often writes much better code than GPT-6 Astra. It doesn't write useless verbose tests, it doesn't give confusing explanations. To be a good software engineer, you have to be able to communicate well, and RL doesn't capture that.

Wanted to see how well calibrated Jev by @typesafeai is to this famous chart about what probabilities people mean by specific words... and it's pretty well calibrated!

Claude Opus 5.5 will be the first Opus meant to fall back to a less capable model for "a small set of capabilities related to the development of frontier LLMs, such as kernel development.."

for the past few months i've been asking our models to paint. opus 5.5 is very skilled at emulating different styles every image here is a python program generated pixel by pixel. there is no image model, and no off-the-shelf art software. instead, it's about 7,500 lines of code using standard libraries to emulate different brush styles. the agents don't use any pictures as reference, instead working only from what they know about each painter
Introducing Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in our new Claude 5.5 family. It performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 for most tasks, and costs 40% less to run than Opus 5.

Yes we are a healthcare company. Yes we just released the best open-weight alternative to Jev, Solomon 27b. - It roughly matches the intelligence of its base-model, Qwen3.8 27b - Natively Multimodal - 265k Context Window - Adds multi-choice tagging, evidence pointer spans, and more.

Self-replicating, multi-agent AI systems are an overlooked existential risk. I want to lay out why I believe this, via example. Each dot is a simple creature with a randomly evolved NN brain. There is no training; yet complex, unpredictable survival drives always emerge. 1/14

I just feel bad because there’s so many people who genuinely don’t know what reality is with this stuff, and they have to trust and rely on our leaders in this space like Dario. And unfortunately those leaders are currently abusing that trust for their own ends.

We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.
