Almost done adding 'automatic human face masking' to Screen Studio. I believe this has a lot of real use cases. For example, I wanted to post a demo on how we train our background removal model, but I didn't want to record all the faces of people from the training dataset.

Screen Studio can now automatically mask sensitive data of any kind. It scans every frame of your video looking for emails, credit card numbers, API keys, etc. It takes ~6s to analyze an entire 20s-long recording on an M3 Mac. Face masking (avatars, etc.) is coming soon too.

Screen Studio finally integrates with Finder preview and shows you a project preview before you even open it. I ask myself why we haven't done it earlier. It makes life so much easier, especially when you have hundreds of projects in one folder.

Screen Studio 4.0: We trained our own AI model to upscale macOS screen recordings. We built a bot that generated 5,000 random, nonsensical SwiftUI apps that feel like macOS, took screenshots, downscaled them, and trained on those. Standard upscaling vs. our model:

We generated ~5,000 images like this. They make no sense, but they feel like macOS. The bet: a perfect upscaler for Screen Studio must be trained on macOS UI content. It paid off. Our model beat everything we found online, in both quality and speed.

Screen Studio 4.0 is finally out! screen.studio/changelog It took ~8 months. Way too long. I feel such relief now. We built a brand-new, in-house rendering engine, trained our own AI models, and so much more. Will be posting details and learnings soon! I hope you'll like it!

We should promote this comments pattern. It means a human wrote it, not AI. AI often writes misleading or plain stupid comments, which is painful, especially if something is complex and important. When you notice this "human" tag, you know you can actually trust it more.

Looking for a pack of 8–12 top-tier LUTs for color grading in Screen Studio Know a great set? Or are you a professional colorist open to a collab? We need LUTs that are universal but genuinely well-crafted - great skin tones, and they have to hold up across any input, from a built-in MacBook webcam to a pro DSLR

Adding macOS 27 inspired sidebar glow to screen.studio It is watching the canvas and generating glow in realtime using typegpu. Had a lot of fun cooking it.

That’s the only picture I have from our @appjsconf stand. We clearly need some better content marketing

Just met the people behind @screenstudio, full circle moment! The people preventing our videos from exploding are even cooler than the software they make 😀 Elite tool. Absolute legends! And we obviously use it at @coderabbitai too! Thx @pie6k and @AL8ATROS 🤜 🤛🏽

The teacher's approach here makes me sad. The girl at 0:31 discovered a new pattern followed by the other kids, which helped them finally solve it It feels like group-driven evolution, but we only have one winner, with the rest feeling 0 motivation to cooperate in the future
