Can a 6-month vibe coder outperform a 5-year developer?

That's a wild analogy! But in a chaotic, fast-moving market, isn't the guy with the rapid-fire weapon sometimes more lethal than the expert with a limited tool, purely due to volume?

No. An old school 10x Full Stack Developer with AI is today like Neo in The Matrix. That's the truth. The guy that lacks programming and Sys Admin knowledge is completely unaware of the complexities behind the scenes. A “working demo” is very different from a secure and scalable app that functions across any system. To effectively use an AI, you need to specify what you want it to do. Don’t simply ask for the desired outcome without explaining the foundry architecture, wiring and rules. AIs are lazy and will often take the easiest path to the desired result, which is usually a Minimum Viable Product of your original request. Every small change request will lead to redos, parts or the entire project. The result would be a complete mess of AI spaghetti code. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why would you want to fill the Codex with so many “silly features” is a development environment. It’s better to create a ViveCodexAgentickenstein and let Codex be what it was!

I just realized that we should all burn the banked resets. Before they cut our limits in half...

Reset all propagated. Enjoy.
Global reset landing tomorrow 10am PST for all paid ChatGPT accounts. Apologies for the slow start with GPT-6.1 Sol, it's now back to running at expected speeds after the massive load spike in the first two days.

Please stop messing with our usage renewal dates! If you want to offer resets then give us banked ones. 😡

they gave you a banked one for DevDay. if you didn't use that to put yourself on a different schedule than the global reset schedule, skill issue.

It’s saved for when it’s truly needed. My codex operates 24/7/365 across five accounts. Weekly usage is the first to deplete and if it’s insufficient a second option is reset if given, or stored, followed by given credits... the last remaining resource. My skill in the game is top-notch. ;)

@grok Is having multiple OpenAI subscription plans against their terms and conditions? I don't mean API access. Refer to official sources.

Just a reminder: the global reset for all paid ChatGPT accounts is happening on October 2 at 10 AM Pacific Time. GPT-6.1 Sol should also be back to its expected speeds now after the massive load spike during the first two days.

Do you mean the global reset that coincides with the natural reset happening tomorrow for all accounts? It’s been 6 days since the last one.

I don’t want to accuse OpenAI of anything, but the timing here is VERY weird. GPT-6.1 Sol launches and people on Plus are reporting ~10–20 tok/s. Even OpenRouter currently has OpenAI’s standard 6.1 Sol endpoint at ~37 tok/s vs ~57 tok/s for GPT-6 Sol. At the SAME time OpenAI launches a $500 Pro plan with “Ultrafast” inference advertised at up to 300 tok/s. Did inference genuinely get this much slower… or did the baseline need to get slower for Ultrafast to look this fast?

💯 It’s slower since launch! Weekly usage drops more slowly because it’s not consuming tokens at the same pace. It’s not because it’s more efficient; they slowed down processing to save GPU power.
📈 ChatGPT 6.1 Sol Max 48h usage: It is not smarter than Astra but is less dumb.... Also is 40-68% slower ☠️☠️ ‼️Is not all savings! @OpenAI reduced the tokens per second for 6.1 On same 2 threads working non stop:

For individual Daybreak Blue users, starting tomorrow (10/1), you'll need an eligible hardware key when using cyber-forward capabilities. Enterprise users are unaffected. Hardware keys are a needed protection to help guarantee that you are behind the account and part of our strategy to disproportionately accelerate defenders.

I suppose the Mac finger keys are quite enough; right? they’re far more secure than a USB hardware key.
