whoever’s in charge of comms at anthropic
Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.

This photo was an accident. I was nearing 70,000 feet in a U 2, fumbling with the settings on a GoPro I had mounted in the cockpit. Somewhere in the process, I pressed the shutter. I’m glad I did. At that altitude, the atmosphere is mostly below you. The sky overhead has gone nearly black. You’re sealed inside a full pressure suit because the world just beyond the glass can no longer support human life. The U 2 was designed in the 1950s and is still flying. Long wings, tiny margin for error, built to spend hours in a part of the atmosphere few people ever see. There are photographs you plan carefully. And then there are the accidental ones that somehow bring you right back. More: washingtonpost.com/news/in-s…

Today, we announced a watershed deal to acquire three companies from @Boeing, @WiskAero , @Insitu_Inc, and @skygridai, in exchange for Boeing taking a strategic equity stake in @flyarcher and collaborating with us. After closing, our product portfolio will span piloted air taxis, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in Groups 2 through 5, purpose-built AI for aviation, and the vertical technology stack for autonomous flight. The mission is even bigger now. It’s time to build. archer.com/news/archer-to-sh…

I keep coming back to Southern California, and it keeps solidifying its rise as the hard tech capital of the US. California should do everything in its power to make it possible for these companies to build their biggest factories here

this is so good
For Rainmaker's first ad campaign, we took over the DC CapSouth Metro Station, just steps away from the US Capitol Building. Fifty four unique posters, billboards, and hand-crafted gold frames transformed the station into an art gallery. Water to the people.
