if you're a claude code desktop user on Windows - what's missing? does it feel on par with the macOS app, and if not, why?

Claude Code will now try to find a graceful stopping point when you hit your 5-hour limit mid-task, instead of cutting off mid-edit. It gets a small, fixed allowance pulled from your weekly limit to wrap up what it can.

If you're on Pro, Max, or Team, your reset is available today in Settings → Usage. Apply it any time until Oct 22. Opus 5.5 is the default for paid plans. It's priced lower than Opus 5, so your 5-hour and weekly limits go 25% further.

We're adding support for AGENTS.md to Claude Code. Starting today in version 2.1.277, if there is no CLAUDE.md in a folder, Claude will check for and use AGENTS.md. You can toggle this behavior in /config.

Today, we're combining Cowork and Chat into one Claude. You can fire off questions and then turn to serious work in the same conversation. When your computer is open, Claude can use your local files and apps - and if you close it, Claude will keep working with its own computer in the cloud.

Claude Cowork and chat are merging into one Claude. Ask a quick question or hand over a report, and Claude takes it from there, even after you close your laptop. If something's unclear, Claude asks—you keep the final say. Rolling out to Pro and Max over the next few weeks.
