Russia is isolating Kiev from Ukraine and from Europe, bit by bit. Generation plants. Transmission lines. Transportation. Bridges. Datacenters. Mobile networks. Fuel stations & storage. Basically a seige. Might have to move the state administrative apparatus West to the heart of banderastan -- Lvov.
🚨 Warehouses are burning; now it’s the bridges' turn!🇷🇺🛸🔥
The range of applications for the jet-powered "Geran" drones is expanding: this morning, two UAVs struck the South Bridge in Kiev. This bridge handles a massive portion of the logistics for so-called Ukraine, as it connects the two halves of the city and leads toward Boryspil.
Klitschko claimed the strike was simply against the bridge itself, but footage reveals the actual targets were the stay cables—the steel ropes connecting the roadway to the vertical supports (pylons) and holding up the bridge span.
▪️ Large water mains, heating pipes, and cables run through the structure. Before the war, traffic volume reached 100,000–110,000 vehicles per day, underscoring the bridge's importance. The strike employed the "whiskered" version of the "Geran"—the same type used yesterday to target power transmission lines.
The "Geran" warhead lacks the power to inflict critical structural damage on a bridge of this type. However, as the "Dva Mayora" (Two Majors) channel rightly noted, something else matters more here: persistent jet-drone attacks on the bridge supports will cause frequent traffic disruptions and cumulative damage from repeated strikes on the same spots.
The enemy used this exact tactic against bridges in Crimea, employing UAVs with enhanced shaped-charge warheads. They expended dozens of drones to bring down a bridge; if the Russian Armed Forces adopt a similar approach, there is a good chance of at least temporarily disabling the bridge.
❗️Furthermore, constant attacks will fuel panic among the Ukrainian population. Who would want to drive across a bridge that could be hit at any moment? This will lead to a reorientation of routes and an increase in logistical difficulties.
