Just use lidar bro, get over it, make peace whith whatever lidar manufacturing CEO pissed you off and just use the technology designed to solve literally this exact problem
Robotaxi operating hours moved from 10pm to 11pm. The main thing we’re trying to solve is making sure that we don’t run over pets when they’re hard to see at night. Literally trying to avoid grey kittens on grey tarmac in the dark.

I had a flight out of DMK in like 2019 where we arrived absurdly early, like, 3 hours or so, we checked in, went straight to immi and it was like one dude who was literally that zootopia character 30 minutes before departure (aka qp minutes before the gate closes) we just went to the front of the line, apologized to people along the way, most just let us through One one British dude and one Chinese dude tried making a fuss about it, British bro was like "oi I've got the same floight and I'm standing right here innit" but by that point we had made it to the counter and security came over to manage the crowd, not us Guess the two people that were not on that flight once we departed gate
If I have risk of missing the flight, I will be pushing through the line regardless of what everyone thinks or says. Even if 100 people will be pointing and screaming at me, I’ll still push through Learned this the hard way. I had two flights scheduled: from Taiwan to Hong Kong, and then from Hong Kong to Moscow If I missed the first flight, I would also miss the second flight, meaning that I would have wasted $1000 on tickets, and I would also not have a hotel I arrived 2:30 hours before departure (which I believe is above the norm), but the queue was extremely long. I tried to pass and I had probably like 10 old Asian men and women “discipline” me. I unfortunately listened to them and stayed within the line And then the check-in closed. I was unable to board (at first). These Asians had tickets (and I asked them) to flights they were NOT going to miss, and they, instead of having empathy of passing me through, decided to make a childish scandal as if I stole their lunch I believe you do have priority over everyone else in the line if you have risk to miss a flight that is about to leave. Unless they’re in the same situation as you, you shouldn’t care about making them angry. What’s better: wasting money on the flight and committing yourself to a day of inconvenience, or making some random people angry who aren’t going to miss their flight anyway You should have enough bravado to pass through screaming and angry passengers (unless they’re also at risk of missing their flight) In the end, I bribed some reception lady to pass me through. No way of me losing a $1000 on tickets just because of some queue To those who think I should have arrived earlier - I arrived early and I was in the queue from the beginning. It seems in Taiwan they had one airline with one desk which took much more time to pass than anywhere I have been to (aside from Phuket)

In wise words of @rauchg
We deleted 800k lines of unit tests from the @sazabi monorepo earlier this week. Three hypotheses: 1- Unit tests "lock-in" slop code by making it hard to change or remove 2- Unit tests slow down dev cycles by making your agent do more work locally and by increasing CI times 3- Unit tests waste money by making your agent generate more tokens and by adding useless CI runs Will report back soon with the results!

Okay 2 things I can conclude from this 1. The company that made this thinks that adding "wait" and "like" and overly long pauses to an LLM output makes it sound human (lmao SF nerds) 2. Their "48%" of people who thought this was a human are handpicked dumbest fucks in the land
The so-called first AI to "pass the video Turing test" just miserably failed each one of my extremely simple Turing tests.

Is the taste in the room with us right now?
We're entering the age of "tasteslop" - content that can be slopped out with little effort, but exhibits good taste. Spec ad for AmEx - Claude built a mosaic animation engine with 500,000 tiles. No video models. Javascript is the language of the universe.

My favorite part of this article is one of the visiting scholars pointing out that by Olah’s logic he is by far the worst slaver in history and he must immediately give up this abhorrent and immensely lucrative project, which anthropic people ignored.

Pope has a better understanding of the tech that the guys building it lmao
NEW: According to a bombshell report in the New York Times, Anthropic co-founder Chris Olah threatened to walk out of Pope Leo XIV’s AI encyclical launch in May because the pope rejected the idea that machines can be conscious. Olah’s team then privately lobbied the pope’s advisers “to take the possibility of model consciousness seriously.” Pope Leo XIV held firm. For months, Anthropic has wined and dined theologians and religious scholars under nondisclosure agreements, hoping they would bless the idea that Claude has moral standing. thelettersfromleo.com/p/nyt-…

Congrats to Supabase for acquiring the technology for dropping users' production data Excited for the future
Turso is joining @supabase. Together, we're building the database platform for the agentic era: everything agents need, from lightweight databases to Postgres at petabyte scale. More details in thread. 👇

Bro wants desperately to be acquired by Aylo
The whole point of building Tavus has been simple: talking to a machine should feel as natural as talking to a friend or coworker. It’s hard to describe all the tiny nuances that make a conversation feel human. The little expressions. Moving around in your chair. Knowing when to speak and when to listen. The dance of it all. Griffin is by far the closest anyone has come to a model that can capture those nuances. The first time I saw it being used, I had no idea I was watching our model rather than just a normal video call. I’m so incredibly proud of this team and what they’ve built.

Needles to say, don't give access to your auth and 2FA methods to a random SF startup run by a cringe teenager
Man, I am not sure how I feel about this one!

The problem with this assessment is that if a Grand Theft Motherfucking Auto game is not GOTY in its release year, Geoff Keighley will be exfiltrated from his house and depantsed on national television
Alanah Pearce claims that GTA 6 is unlikely to be eligible for The Game Awards and likely won't be considered for GOTY. In 2025, the first round of Jury was done by Nov 4th & they announced nominees on Nov 17th. Unless TGA voting is delayed, GTA 6 is not getting a nomination.
