Most kids only see the fish when it hits the plate. Today, the boys learned what happens BEFORE that.
After fishing, we taught them how to properly skin and fillet a catfish. Some of the boys even got hands-on and did it themselves with men there walking them through the process.
It ain’t the prettiest part of getting food on the table, but that’s the point. They need to understand where food comes from and the work that happens before we get to enjoy it.
Another life skill in the toolbox.
