Haseeb Qureshi: Ongoing Unlocks Are Eroding Confidence in Token Markets Dragonfly Capital Managing Partner Haseeb Qureshi @hosseeb said in an August 28 interview with @Bankless that ongoing token unlocks are hurting secondary-market confidence in some tokens, with many projects facing persistent sell pressure from multi-year unlock schedules. He said some strategic investors "dump their tokens the moment they get them," selling each batch as it unlocks throughout a four-year vesting period. This repeated selling discourages secondary-market investors from stepping in and can create the perception that a token is destined to trade "down only."

SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce: Financial Privacy Should Be the Default Outgoing U.S. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce @HesterPeirce said in a September 27 interview with @scottmelker that people's right to protect their financial privacy should be respected. She noted that people are not normally required to expose all of their financial transactions to the public, and while blockchain offers transparency, that openness also makes privacy protections necessary.Peirce said that while law enforcement must still be able to do its job, protecting financial privacy in everyday life should be treated as the default rather than as a sign of suspicious activity.

NEAR Intents Exploited for Over $3.8M, Vulnerability Patched with Full Reimbursement Pledged NEAR Intents confirmed the security incident, attributing the loss to a bug in the interaction between Omni deposit/withdrawal infrastructure and its smart contracts. The team announced that the vulnerability has been patched, core services will resume within an hour, and all lost funds will be fully compensated, while deposits and withdrawals across EVM and other supported chains (BSC, Polygon, TON, etc.) will remain suspended for approximately 12 hours as security partners and law enforcement assist in asset recovery. Onchain sleuth ZachXBT flagged an ongoing exploit against NEAR Intents after its BSC hot wallet exhibited irregular outflows totaling over $3.8 million, with stolen assets swiftly routed to KuCoin and bridged to Bitcoin.

CZ Explains Why He Recommended Pausing Withdrawals After the Bybit Hack On September 25, 2026, Binance founder CZ @cz_binance said in an interview with When Shift Happens @KevinWSHPod that after Bybit was hacked, he publicly suggested pausing withdrawals as a more cautious security measure to prevent further abnormal outflows of funds. He said that while suspending services could disrupt trading continuity and inconvenience users, security risks should take priority. Bybit ultimately did not pause withdrawals and no further issues occurred, which, in his view, also showed that there is no absolute right or wrong in such situations and that the key lies in risk assessment.

Tom Lee: Continued DAT Buying Could Push Crypto Prices Higher On September 30, 2026, BitMine Chairman Tom Lee @fundstrat told CoinDesk @CoinDesk at Korea Blockchain Week that digital asset treasury companies (DATs) trading above their net asset value can raise capital to buy more crypto, reducing available supply and potentially driving prices higher. Citing HYPE as an example, he said a Hyperliquid DAT holds about 14% of the token supply and continues to buy. If its holdings reached 50%, HYPE could rise parabolically. WuBlockchain notes that Tom Lee's market forecasts tend to be optimistic. His bullish targets may not materialize, and actual market performance may differ significantly from his predictions. Readers are encouraged to focus on his analytical reasoning rather than use specific price targets or timelines as a basis for investment decisions.

Joseph Lubin: No Indication MetaMask Wallets or Customer Funds Were Affected by Security Incident Ethereum co-founder and Consensys founder Joseph Lubin said a security incident affected part of its infrastructure, but investigations so far show no indication that MetaMask wallets or customer funds were affected. Users' recovery phrases and private keys were not involved. His team and partners rotated validator keys as a precaution. Lubin said validator and withdrawal keys are separate, and his team does not hold clients' withdrawal keys, preventing the incident from causing unauthorized transfers of staked ETH.

Blast to Shut Down After Raising $20 Million From Paradigm and Others in 2023 Ethereum Layer 2 network Blast announced that it will shut down, saying the ongoing cost of maintaining the chain now exceeds the revenue generated by the L2 and that it sees no credible path to becoming economically sustainable. Users are being asked to withdraw assets to Ethereum mainnet by October 26, with the withdrawal delay set to be reduced to 24 hours. After that date, assets will remain withdrawable through Blast’s bridge contracts on Ethereum L1. Blast launched in early access in November 2023 after raising $20 million from investors including Paradigm and Standard Crypto.
