The statue of Prometheus is finally finished. It was cast in Paris, crossed the Atlantic, and was assembled at Starbase. It took us 100 days to go from nothing to this. People of the West, we have lived through an era devoid of dreams, devoid of destiny. But the time has come to reclaim our dream of antiquity. In a few months, we will start building a new city. It will be the most magnificent city in all of history. After all, the great dream of the West has always been to rebuild Rome. Come walk beside us in this endeavor. The world is waiting.

It’s almost that time! The @theXtakeover is coming to Giga Texas next week, October 9th & 10th! It’s about @Tesla, @SpaceX, @boringcompany , @SpaceXAI , @neuralink & the amazing global community that supports the missions, employees & product owners of these companies & more importantly the brighter future they all are making possible! Cybertruck, Model Y, and Cybercab where they’re built! Batteries & the foundational work being done at the Tesla Lithium plant! Starbase, Starship, and a whole lot more! Hear from @mayemusk , @woodhaus2 , @EricETesla & special guest Nicki Minaj! There will be a massive Tesla-themed light show by Xlightshows.io , car displays, product demonstrations, factory tours & so much more! Activities begin on Friday the 9th & the main public event is on Saturday the 10th from 10 AM to 6 PM and then the official light show at 9 PM. This is at Giga Texaas, 1 Tesla Road. This is an independent community event, with Tesla providing the venue. Come out. I can’t wait to hang out with so many of you. @teslaownersSV

I find it funny that some people got hung up on Starship not having gone orbital before Flight 14 when in the grand scheme of things it was completely arbitrary in terms of performance. The 19ish second burn only added about 91 m/s of velocity (a 1.2% increase in velocity) This capability has been physically capable since Flight 6 which demonstrated a single Raptor relight in space. Heck, Flight 13’s burn was about 14 seconds, but intentionally oriented to primarily do a plane change instead of a prograde insertion burn for continued safety. Any of the relights COULD have done the orbital insertion burn, the duration was not of any special technical capability. The reason Starship didn’t go orbital until Flight 14 is probably what we should applaud them for the most… SAFETY. Their methodical approach to getting good data and going one step at a time while hucking the single most massive object ever put into space proves they weren’t just doing things haphazardly, despite the occasional narrative from the outside. While it’s easy to compare Starship to vehicles like SLS or Vulcan or New Glenn, the reality is the focus hasn’t been on orbit, it’s been all on the “downhill” side of that. Safe and targeted de-orbit, clean reentry, targeted and soft splashdown. That’s the part that has (almost) never been done before. And here I do have to add a little Space Shuttle admiration for figuring out a lot of these things on its first flight in 1981 (although it came a bit close to not being successful). Pretty amazing there was a vehicle of similar scale capable of such precise deorbit and reentry that it landed on a runway with no go-around capabilities. Crazy. But Starship is well on a path to absolutely leap-frog the Space Shuttle in terms of performance (already over double and someday 6 fold) and hopefully in terms of full and rapid reuse. I hope we see the latter part speed up even more now that orbit has been demonstrated. Exciting times ahead!!! Keep going @spacex @elonmusk

Here’s a construction update on the Giga Texas Advanced Tech Chip Fab (ATCF) The 1st steel columns have now been installed & expect the vertical assembly speed to be rapid with now 7 huge cranes set up & large sections of the foundation now poured with a thick reinforced & pier supported slab & spread-footing or pile-cap-and-pedestal system. The N end is where the foundation is growing now, while the S end completes the footing construction. This joint @SpaceX & @Tesla facility broke ground in April & its purpose is a research fab & the precursor to Terafab located about 100 miles (~ 160 Km) to the east in Grimes County. The ATCF is a ~$3B, ~ 490,000 sq ft (~ 45,500 sq m) facility built to iterate logic, memory, packaging and test under one roof, making only a few thousand wafers/month to try ideas, not feed production. Expect to see limited ops targeted late 2027.

Just outside Starbase, a 50-foot bronze Prometheus is going up! Not a SpaceX commission. Not paid for by Elon Musk. French foundry Atelier Missor cast it in sections near Paris, shipped it across the Atlantic, and is assembling it on private land near the entrance for about a million dollars of their own money. In the myth, Prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to humanity. Here he holds that torch toward the same sky Starship is built to punch through. The legs are engineered for a Gulf hurricane: stainless tubes, 14 inches across, half-inch walls. Ancient titan. Modern launch site. Same idea … don’t accept the ceiling.

Looks like @Tesla and @SpaceX set up a unique Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) over the McGregor test facility near Waco … undoubtedly this is for the 1 October Roadster Launch Event. This effectively precludes drone flight or manned aircraft lower than 10,000 feet above the ground and with a radius of 1.5 miles. This is going to be an epic new product unveiling and demonstration!
A TFR has appeared around SpaceX's McGregor Testing Site up to 10,000ft and runs through until the 2nd of October 👀

Cybercab testing underway again today at the Giga Texas track, along with Model YL rough road testing too. The Cybercabs were in one massive group, racing around the outer oval and stopping together at stoplights placed ont eh W side of the oval. The Model YL’s were repeatedly driving over the linear parts f the inner oval where various road surfaces have been created. I cannot say for sure, but it appears to be NVH testing if I had to guess. We have seen CYbercabs also testing on this section of the track previously. Check out the track activity from today!

I drove past SpaceX's Gigasat Factory in Bastrop, then flew over Tesla's Gigafactory in Austin where the advanced technology fab and Optimus factory are rising out of the dirt. The scale and pace at which SpaceX and Tesla are able to build out infrastructure is unprecedented for American companies. They are playing to win, and they will win.

Elon Musk on why Terafab exists. "All existing fabs combined meet only about 2% of what we need for Terafab. We appreciate partners like Samsung and TSMC and want them to expand—we'll buy all their chips—but their growth is slower than we need. So we're building Terafab." Most people hear "chip shortage" and think buy more from the usual names. Elon is saying the entire legacy fab stack is still ~2% of the compute factory he needs — so SpaceXAI / Tesla have to build the machine that makes the chips. • Existing fabs combined ≈ 2% of Terafab need • Samsung + TSMC — partners, still too slow • Terafab — build the missing 98% Partners help. Partners are not enough. Own the factory. "So we're building Terafab."
