Exactly 2 years ago, @Starcloud_ finished @YCombinator S24. That day, @DaltonC Caldwell gave a speech which could be summed up as “Just don’t die”. The speech was the most memorable one of the batch for me and one stat in particular stood out, which makes today significant for me: Companies from years before, that didn’t die for 2 years out from YC had a 30% chance of being worth $100m or more today (which sounded like a lot to me then!) I remember thinking: I’m just going to focus on making sure we’re not dead in 2 years. I’ve now seen many companies in our batch die, almost all of which from self inflicted wounds. Each time before the death I remember thinking: Man, you just have to not die for 2 years, hang in there 😣 I’ve added a few obnoxiously obvious yet still profound slides from that day (I hope you don’t mind Dalton!)

Introducing NetworkOcean. Our future is bottlenecked by the speed at which we can deploy power. We’re building floating solar arrays powering data centers at sea. This will soon be the fastest way to deploy new compute, skipping years of land, grid connections, and traditional infrastructure delays. Our 2030 target is 1 GW/week. @network_ocean_

a jev lint rule that detects if a new component is a potential duplicate of an existing file. this check takes less than a second + costs less than $0.01 (for our codebase at least) jev makes it feel actually reasonable to run these checks on every code change.

Standing up a production CDC pipeline used to mean designing source access, replication, backfills, destination writes, schema-change handling, monitoring, and recovery. Now, it can done with a single prompt: “Create a pipeline from the staging Postgres database to Snowflake.” With Artie MCP available in Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex, an AI agent can use Artie’s tools to configure and manage that workflow. So engineers can start with what they need, instead of spending months assembling and maintaining the pipeline themselves.

today, hundreds of thousands of people interact with an archil disk every week without realizing it. because archil is the easiest way to build stateful agents and data platforms. this week, for the first time, we exceeded 1 mount per second for the entire week. at this rate, in four weeks, we will be creating more disks each week than supabase creates databases. each archil disk can run databases, git checkouts, npm, and s3-like storage -- supporting tens of thousands of operations per second. leggo

One way to get access to a model that benchmarks better + is cheaper and faster than using GPT-6 Astra directly is to just use Weave Router.
Today we’re Releasing Weave Router 2.0. Weave Router now performs better, faster and cheaper than GPT-6 Astra on Terminal-Bench and SWE-Atlas.
