The mistakes I made this week that cost me a painful amount of money: 1. Upgraded my codex plan to a $100 plan to test Astra. Hated it. It broke one of my apps and caused 5 customer subscriptions to fail. 2. Moved my apps to a new Google Play developer account because I changed my business structure. Something went wrong with the migration and 3 more subscriptions failed with a 404 after the trials ended. 3. Tried to upgrade my claude plan, then realized I had unused credits I could have used instead. Contacted support, got a bot, cancelled my plan, moved me to a free plan and lost my old plan and credits. All three were my mistakes. Which honestly makes it even more frustrating. But this is also why customer support bots can be so painful. Some problems need a human who can actually look at your account and fix the mess. Expensive week. Expensive lessons.

There is an old saying in China: "Good things often go through many trials and tribulations, but they will eventually turn out well."

losing money is bad but losing it while arguing with a bot is just disrespectful

I live by one rule: If it ain't (completely) broken, don't fix it

You can't use unused credit to upgrade your subscription anyways!

Seriously now, try fireworks with a deepseek/glm latest model and codex. It's 80% cheaper than the big ones and same/better results. Did this lately and I regret paying those $100s

>5 emails back and forth >problem completely unsolved >locked out of account Bot: We've marked this case as solved. Have a nice day Kinda dystopian

If ain't broken, don't fix it. These things are more fragile than they seem.

Hey Eliana! You don't usually pay for max subscriptions? Either on claude or gpt or any other?

I found Astra annoying too, it was just burning through allowance going on 40+ minute tasks and returning with updates that didn't address the issue, or fixed it in a very shallow way.

Sorry to hear that! What I often say to bots these days: "I want to talk to a rep. REP. REPRESENTATIVE."

That’s how it goes sometimes but all in all those are good problems to have

5 dead subs before anyone noticed. that's the real invoice

Exactly, automated support bots can't handle special cases at all, it's such a headache.

E você culpa o Astra por isso?

I don’t care abt your AI cost loss, money will come back. But your business… Did you manage to recover the subs?

Look at the bright side—you didn’t lose money. You paid tuition to the University of “Well, I’m Never Doing That Again.”

That sucks. I had the same experience with Codex. I had to cancel it; I never used it for more than 10 days.
