All companies whose business model depends on humans wasting time inside their apps will fight MCP. Of course they won’t give you an API that lets an agent do the work instead. Their entire business model depends on you clicking buttons. Boicot them with passion!

We stopped reading machine code decades ago because compilers made it unnecessary. Now AI is writing the code that writes the machine code. Is it time to stop reading source code too?

Everyone is shipping “personal AI assistants,” but most people have never had a human personal assistant. So what the hell are they supposed to ask it to do? A human assistant teaches you what to delegate. These bots just give you 10 canned examples and wait. And I think that’s the biggest problem nobody is talking about…

this promo video is so good, i don’t even think its AI is it AI? anyone from Anthropic can confirm? @AnthropicAI
Introducing Claude Sonnet 5.5, the second model in the Claude 5.5 family. It’s a clear upgrade over Sonnet 5, runs more than 30% faster, and costs up to 30% less for most work.

latest models are nuts! do you guys feel the same? do you miss writing syntax by hand?
Replying to @londonboreal
Nobody died of sadness they dont need to write syntax anymore, I hope. There is a great future especially for those who wrote code with passion. They just need to let go and embrace the new world, the sooner the better.

Anthropic reported ~80% margins on its API business. That makes the reported usage inside $200 subscriptions hard to reconcile. I suspect those usage numbers are largely inflated, or presented in a way that makes the $200 price feel like a much better deal.
A $200 Claude Code sub gets you ~$9,000 of Opus usage per month. I have managed to run 3 Claude accounts down to 0% since Opus 5.5 dropped. When analyzing their usage, costs were $2,086, $2,442, and $2,182. Average is $2,200/week, so ~$9,000/month

I’ve been seeing these Opus 5.5 videos lately. They’re really impressive, especially this one credits to @anabology Problem: when everyone uses the same format, the novelty dies fast. There are thousand videos posted in the last few days. We call this: Format fatigue.

MCP was misunderstood, but it's finally catching up now. I think most SaaS need to mirror all their surfaces to MCP tools. Humans are tired of dashboards, they want those agents to use them. Is your SaaS ready for my agent to connect to your MCP server?

for my saas the MCP request carries an API key. The server resolves it to an identity with a role. Before doing anything, each tool handler checks that role, if it's too low, it throws 403 and nothing is written.

OG devs have rules, one sounds like this, a few variants: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” “It works. Don’t fucking touch it.” when using opus 5.5 and Astra and the damn thing is working, do you stop reading the code and accept then rule above?

Thanks to everyone for interacting and for the discussion in the comments of this post that blew up yesterday. Still surprised some devs didn’t understand DHH’s message, because it was crystal clear: Writing code by hand no longer makes economic sense. We now have tools that write code far faster than humans. Let’s get over the nostalgia, use them, and ship awesome products. It’s a brave new world!
DHH is probably one of the top software artisans of the past decade. Hearing him speak with this much conviction and transparency about one of the most polarizing topics in software right now, writing code by hand vs. with AI, is something pretty much every software engineer should hear a few times. Especially those still on the wrong side of history.

looks like “AI buble! The AI companies are subsidizing prices” is getting a little harder to sell when Anthropic is reportedly telling investors its gross margin is 80%+ before training and revenue-sharing costs, whatever that means.

we had AI slop for a while, and now we have slop grenades too. Grenades! try not to panic, new models coming soon

i agree with maybe half of the findings, but i did’d like that it was actually a promo in semi-disguise, @atmoio not because promoting is wrong, but it felt like a conflict of interest. I love your videos bro, but this one felt a bit weird. Just a wrong format.
I’ve spoken to over 50 people 1:1 over the last several months to better understand how they code with AI. It’s an absolute mess. Here are the top 8 mistakes I see. 0:00 - Intro 1:19 - Mistake 1: Talking to 2026 models like they’re 2025 models 2:43 - Mistake 2: Devising funky metaphorical factories to orchestrate your agents 3:59 - Mistake 3: Treating context as sacred 6:02 - Mistake 4: Treating previous conversations as sacred 7:59 - Mistake 5: Having a todo list 10:00 - Mistake 6: Using funky tools 13:47 - Mistake 7: Stressing over code quality 24:27 - Mistake 8: Using branches and worktrees
