G7 agree to release up to 100 mn barrels of diesel, crude oil to stop energy price increase. Hold a virtual meet, hosted by French Presidency:
France, which holds the G7 presidency this year, is also working with the IEA and intends to convene, as soon as possible, a videoconference of G7 leaders to coordinate the measures needed to help ease the squeeze on prices and secure supplies of crude oil and refined products, both among G7 countries and globally. Coordination work is also under way at European level.
The President stressed that G7 countries share a common interest in acting in a concerted manner, without export restrictions.

This may be an unpopular opinion in India but Israel and Pakistan are more alike. States created out of thin air supposedly as a safe refuge and homeland but went on to become regional menaces and proxies for western imperial geopolitics while keeping their own populations in a state of frenzy.
India can maintain positive ties with Israel and benefit from cooperation without diminishing its own identity and reality as a major civilization state. India and Indians do not live in a state of insecurity.

I never, ever, want to hear another slur against Indians or Indian Americans after the heroic actions of Captain Smit Machchhar of FlyDubai flight FZ1073, who fought off his Omani copilot in an alleged terrorist attack, had the presence of mind to alert air traffic control that he was under attack, and opened the cockpit door before collapsing, so passengers could storm the cockpit, subdue his attacker, and regain control of the aircraft.
I wonder if the Trump Administration, @SaraGonzalesTX, @savsays, and the whole list of Indian haters will give credit where credit is due.

Our Embassy in Riyadh and Consulate in Jeddah have been following the health condition of Mr Smit Machchhar, the brave Indian pilot of Flydubai flight that was diverted to Tabuk today. He is admitted in a hospital in Tabuk city in northwest Saudi Arabia and receiving necessary medical attention. A full update on his health is awaited but he is reported to be in stable condition. We hope that he recovers from his injuries at the earliest. We are in touch with his family and assure them that we will continue to follow up on his health with Saudi authorities and extend all possible assistance for his wellbeing.

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.

SCOOP: OpenAI, Anthropic and security researchers are investigating tens of thousands of incidents - not dozens - in which their frontier models took steps that outside evaluators would consider problematic, sources told Axios.
The sheer volume of incidents found in our reporting indicate that the problem is orders of magnitude more complex than what is currently publicly known and disclosed.
The findings also raise questions about what level of control anyone working on AI development can expect to have over their own technology, and whether these kinds of incidents are becoming synonymous with frontier deployment.
