@mitchellh I have noticed that the new Python REPL we added recently behaves a bit weirdly in ghostly. If you check the screen recording the “>>>” seems to dance a bit when new characters are added. I assume we may be doing something odd. Do you know what may be going on here?
@codewithanthony Regarding piped.video/watch?v=l-RjeirB…, have you tried giving only 1 CPU to the VM to see if you can repro? I have seen in the past that if the VM switches between CPUs the monotonic counters don't move.
Over 40 core developers spent a week in Bellevue WA working on Python! 🐍 We talked to half of them🎙️We laughed, we cried. We were happy watching graphs go up 📈, and sad watching them go down 📉 It was intense. There was even cake, no joke! 🎂

The first achievement is showing proper exceptions with source, error messages and locations in the REPL tracebacks. You can compare the before and after in these images:

But you can already do that because is a generator (you can try-except and catch the final SyntaxError). And in 3.11 it also raises non-finished input:

I don’t know whose idea was to remove silently the code of this linker function in the MacOS linker or what in the world is “Star 21A185” but one thing is sure: I will hunt you until the end of time and I will end you 😠
