You don't build this fast without some help. We had a pretty great set of tools to build on. Shout-out to: - @base_ui - @zero__ms - @tan_stack + @nextjs - @vercel - @workflowsdk / @eve / @aisdk - @better_auth - @PlanetScale - @DrizzleORM - @motiondotdev - @posthog - @inngest - @tailwindcss - Of course @joebell_ and cva.style/ - And more... Massive thanks to the people building everything we build with.
We believe that software doesn’t close deals. You do. Excited to introduce Operate, the collaborative AI tool built for frontier sales teams. TLDR; Rethought from the ground up, we connect your whole sales stack (CRM, calls, inbox, and more) to surface where every deal stands and what’s next. Sales leaders get a forecast they trust and don’t have to DM their reps on Slack for status updates and data hygiene issues. Sales reps can stay out of the CRM and the tedious toil of admin. We’re working with growing sales teams (3-50 reps) on making AI actually effective for sales including mapping the pipeline, routing to agents/deterministic paths, implementing real workflows, and tracking goal progress. If this resonates, sign up to the waitlist. If you are a good fit, the form will redirect so you can schedule a chat with one of our co-founders.

Cloud Zero is now available and production-ready: fully managed Zero hosting from the team that built it. - no severs to deploy or maintain - 24/7 monitoring - automatic zero-downtime updates - optional bring-your-own-cloud deployment - migration help for existing self-hosted setups zero.rocicorp.dev/cloud
When we started Zero, we weren’t even sure there _was_ a correct design for the kind of query-based sync engine we dreamed of. We spent two years finding that design, then hardening it for production use. We always imagined a hosted version too, because (a) running a sync server is never going to be fun 😅, and (b) gotta make money! Starting late last year, we were finally able to begin work on that hosted version. Initially it was invite-only and small, but we're now in production and syncing thousands of messages per minute for teams like @productlane, @passionfroot, and @shipper_crm. Cloud Zero is production-grade Zero hosting from the team that built it: - no servers to run or maintain - 24/7 monitoring and alerts - automatic zero-downtime updates - fast NVMe-based architecture - run as traditional SaaS or in your own AWS account We’re onboarding manually, but it’s quick. And if you’re already self-hosting Zero, we’ll help migrate your setup. Get started today at: zerosync.dev/cloud

This is a problem we face sometimes too 😂. I think the right thing is to put a throttle on your loading skeleton so it doesn't appear for, say, 500ms.

New in Zero! Zero 0.23 adds the long-awaited "custom queries" (now called "synced queries") feature. This enables custom server code on the read path. But more importantly, it deletes Zero's auth and permissions systems entirely. Also, first-class RN. zero.rocicorp.dev/docs/relea…

But mostly the not waiting.
the selling point of @zero__ms is not just that the user doesn't have to wait for stuff (free optimistic updates) but a whole category of branching logic mostly disappears from your codebase (`isLoading`)

☕️ ☕️ Zero 0.20 – Full supabase support, performance improvements This release marks the beginning of what will be a couple-months long effort to apply many of the standard database optimizations to ZQL. Our ultimate goal with this effort is to put a 100GB test dataset into zbugs, running continuously, in production, for fun. Up until now ZQL, has actually been pretty naive. So you will see some crazy improvements in benchmarks and also in practical speed in your own apps as we pick off some of this low-hanging fruit. This will unfold over several releases. In this release: * Improve performance of single-key reads on client by using the magic of ✨indexes✨. Scale depends on size of data but 100x improvement is common. * Implement short-circuiting for `or` queries. Because of permissions, one or more branches of `or` would often be empty, turning the entire `or` into a full-table scan. 100x improvement on "chinook" test dataset. * Remove DNF conversion. This was intended to make consistency easier in the future, but was resulting in some queries exploding in size. This is a ~40% improvement in some queries on our benchmarks. The difference will be much bigger on some of the queries users have sent us – some of which even crashed Zero previously. Complete release notes here, including many other more minor features and fixes: zero.rocicorp.dev/docs/relea…

Thanks @supabase you are the best ❤️
Supabase is now fully supported on Zero. Schema migrations happen automatically and efficiently. Thank you very much to the Supabase team for getting this shipped *and* for starting work to upsteam so other Postgres vendors can benefit. 🌸 🌸 Zero 0.19 Happy May! Zero 0.19 is a beautification release containing over 30 bug fixes and small improvements. Here are a few notable ones: 🌸 7x improvement in restore speed from litestream (zero-cache will restart much faster on aws) 🌸 Layering improvements for `PushProcessor` to make it easier to use an alternate db impl in custom mutators (thanks @erikmunson !) 🌸 You can now await server results with `run() ` (finally! – long-standing feature-request) 🌸 Fixed a long standing bug where deletes were getting reverted (thanks for reproduction @marbemac !) See the complete release notes here: zero.rocicorp.dev/docs/relea…
