Has anyone actually vibe-coded something better than a basic web app or mobile app? Like a compiler, OS, database, game engine, distributed system…

I’ve made a DJ mix app that automatically mixes dance music. 🎧 It’s macOS native but I haven’t read a single line of swift code. Works great.

Big Pickle is.. good! Unbelievable that OpenCode are currently giving this out for free..

I guess that harvested data is valuable! :)

There needs to be some new form of the “open source” concept for the vibe-coding era. 100,000 developers are building their own custom solutions to the same problems. Some of those solutions are probably amazing. Some would be amazing if combined with others. But instead, the wheel gets reinvented 100,000 times, burning a forest of tokens in the process. Imagine a central library or App Store where agents could find, reuse, combine and improve the best solutions people have already built. Yes, this sounds a lot like open source. But GitHub is organised around repositories and projects. I’m thinking of something organised around capabilities: an agent-native library of solved problems rather than a collection of codebases.

The hard part is trust, not search. A shared fix is only worth grabbing if you can see it actually ran, what it touched, and who else used it without things breaking. Whoever cracks that wins the rest.

Good points! Maybe something like StackOverflow's old voting system, rated by agents (and humans)?

Is this in T3? Cool. I made a protocol for this that works across other harnesses. Very useful indeed.

Is anyone actually using Omarchy, or are they all just taking photos of the screen saver?

No thanks. I'm glad it exists but macOS is great for me.

Nope, nope, nope, nope Switched back to Laravel VPS + Forge Too expensive. Just compute will cost me around $7.2/m + Database cluster will cost another $8/m And this is when I don't have enabled any cache, schedulers, etc., it's a simple 1 page website with payment link. Imagine something bigger with more load. It just does not make sense to me. Returned back to $6/m server. All included.
I switched bytemailapp.com from Laravel VPS + Forge to Laravel Cloud fully. If the bill is more than $6 this month, I am switching back again.

I don’t see the reason to use aws in my case, I think it’s over engineered

Fair enough. But a lot of the others are just wrappers for it anyway. Agents can handle all the complexity of it.

I'm spending too much on GitHub Actions for side projects. What's the latest state of the art here for cheaper runners / running locally / something else?

What are you doing with them? As a solo dev I can’t see any point, at least how I work. Tests run locally, deploys aren’t automated. 🤷

Why do people still code in the “terminal”? 🙂

BREAKING: the UK government publishes official rules on how to use AI: 1. Ask first if you really need to use AI 2. Check if a spreadsheet can do the job before using AI 3. Choose the worst model possible so it uses less energy 4. Keep prompts short to reduce the environmental impact 5. In general, use AI only when necessary, as a climate-saving measure With a mindset like this, we should accept the UK back into the European Union

I’m British, and I care about the environment, but this makes me want to paste “war and peace” after each prompt.

People believe MSM, they don't do their own research.

“Do their own research” = “watch conspiracies on YouTube”

piped.video/vbT_1eB9ZL0 watch the interview. of all the ones we've had she may have been the only legit PM we ever had; which would explain why the establishment canned her so quickly.

google api console is one thing i will procrastinate endlessly
Sorry, this is pure FUD. Google API keys are very simple, people just don't follow very simple steps. All you need to do is: 1. Sign in to google cloud console 2. Create a new project 3. Enable billing on that project 4. Search for numerous "services" that you need to enable for that API 5. Find out there are more you need to enable to actually make it work 6. Go and enable them. 7. Create the key 8. It still doesn't work and you keep wondering why and then spending days with customer support (after many different wrong AI generated answers that lead you to a wild goose chase), you find some hidden webpage that oh wait, you need to create a key in ai studio for this now 9. ai studio says you are only on tier -43 so you can only do transactions of less than $0.2 in a day 10. Then you go to openrouter and make a key and use it. It's extremely simple.

I just ask the agent to do it via computer control.

The biggest problem with the meta glasses to me is that they are made by meta. If it ran some kind of open OS without nightmare terms of service I’d be all over it.

Not a fan of Wordpress these days, but I love the political drama that enshrouds it.
