💜 We're super pumped to announce our integration with @RudderStack today. What does this mean for you, a @RudderStack customer? It means you can now configure your settings to set up CommandBar as a destination in RudderStack. Our friends at RudderStack wrote up a very helpful doc on how you can quickly do this. Check it out below. What does this mean for you, a @CommandBar customer? It means you can do more of what we love to preach: target, target, target. Once you've enabled the integration (as shown below), you can start using client-side events data to make your nudges meet the right users, at the right time. There are many ways this could look like (depending on what data you collect and from where), but here's an example of a use case: (1) User clicks a button for a specific feature in the app, triggering an event -> (2)Event is sent to RudderStack and CommandBar at the same time -> (3) CommandBar triggers an experience immediately to let the user know about new functionality of that feature.

The @ycombinator application isn't just about your idea. It's also about how you think. For most questions, there's a literal answer and a meta-answer that conveys the types of traits that predict founder success from YC. Here's some advice on how to crush your @ycombinator application.

Budget cuts layoffs... Companies can't afford petty product-eng conflicts anymore. When you understand engineers, you'll have less conflict and stress while building better products. And what better way to learn how engineers think than to listen to a world-class technical leader chat with a world-class product leader? @lennysan's latest podcast with @cartainc CTO @Lethain is a masterclass in the engineering mindset and how to collaborate to create great products—among many other things. Here are our favorite lessons from the pod:

How important is the one-liner you use for explaining what your product does? When we went through @ycombinator three years ago, we probably had the worst one in our batch. 🎧 Listen to the story of how we went from "cmd+k for any app" to where we are now, on the @ridingunicorns_ podcast. Obsessed with the new “make it more” trend on ChatGPT. You generate an image of something, and then keep asking for it to be MORE. We asked ChatGPT to make a product manager progressively more cool. Here's what happened:

SaaS blogging is about to change forever. We’re building something that breaks away from the standard format, something that feels different, enticing, and, well, out there. An unhinged publication for product and UX enthusiasts to unashamedly treat software as art. To bathe in the latest trends and read non-soporific, very tactical advice on building stunning products. High-fashion magazine sass meets SaaS. Launching soon.

Unpopular opinion: PLG isn't the be-all and end-all. Sure, it worked in many cases, but in a post-ZIRP world, founders care more about seeing revenue 📈 than ever before.

If you’ve ever used Slack from the toilet (guilty), you know that mobile UX is becoming more important, even in B2B. Less patient users on smaller screens means it’s extra hard, too. UX has come a long way, but why has time stood still on mobile UX? 👇

First, we conquered desktop. Now we conquer mobile. We’re so excited to announce CommandBar for mobile, which lets you embed CommandBar's most popular in-product experiences into your mobile web, React Native, iOS, and Android apps. 🤖 Copilot: an AI-powered assistant for users to take actions without having to look through all the possible mobile screens you have in your app. Works with voice commands, too. 📝 HelpHub: make it easy for users to find training content, tutorials, etc. No in-app browser in sight. ⭐️ Nudges: announce stuff to users in non-annoying ways, using advanced targeting (like asking for a 5-star review after a magic moment, not 3 seconds after they've opened the app for the first time). Anyone on your team can build and ship these experiences in our no-code editor. No need to go through the app stores review cycles, either. We’d love your support on our Product Hunt launch today! producthunt.com/posts/comman…

While manually unearthing an arcane setting helps nobody, some users want to learn—think of a designer looking for an exotic Figma feature they plan to reuse. Copilot does that too—by launching personalized product tours.
1
127
Copilot can directly fulfill user intent. So far, even the best chatbots only explained steps to do something. What if users could click a button that takes those steps? They'd love your product, churn less and open fewer tickets. Copilot does that:
1

AI will transform what users expect from software. Today's good UX will soon feel clunky. Soon, users will expect personalized in-product assistance that makes fulfilling their intent effortless. Meet Copilot.

No “Sunday Scaries” for us yesterday! Why? Because we’ve been too excited for our @jointechladies meetup this week. 💃👩‍💻 A splash networking (the fun kind that isn’t cringe) A tipple of Q&A (our CEO/cofounder @dazzeloid is quite the chatterbox) A pinch of “wow, this was better than I expected it to be” Looking forward to seeing y’all there!

Finally, here's something easy to skip over: The UX copy remained internally consistent. We stuck with "broadcast" instead of using synonyms like "newsletter" or "email". This helps new users learn your product and ensures they know you're talking about the same thing.
1
162
One last reminder of benefits. The CTA here is interesting: If it said "send", users might get scared this would immediately send the broadcast to their list. By reassuring them with "review", they know they can press the button with no risk.
1
30
Good UX writing also counters objections—think of all the "no credit card required" under free trial buttons. Same here: "It takes 2 minutes" counters the thought that this might take long. Even better: The templates and AI prove this is true. Getting close to the finish line.
1
30
Setting up a sending domain is laborious and annoying. Here, we need to increase motivation. How? By telling users the benefit they'll get! On to step 3:
1
18
-> What you'll need: Knowing what to prepare enables users to successfully complete onboarding. -> Specific CTA: A specific verb clarifies what happens if they click there. Next step? Next step!
1
20
-> The header clarifies what this is about: This is NOT sales copy where you want curiosity. It's UX writing where you want clarity. -> User goal Motivate users by reminding them of the benefits they'll get by completing this. Let's move into the steps:
1
21
Let’s say you work on growth for an email marketing SaaS. You want to create an onboarding checklist. How do you make the UX copy work?
1
27
Many companies ignore UX writing. But UX copy can make the difference between sky-high churn or a 10/10 experience users share with their colleagues. Here's how to do it well (with examples):

Remember flipping through 400-page manuals? Yeah, neither do we. Before in-app help became a thing, the only way to learn how to use a product or get unstuck was: 📧 Email - if you even had dial-up ☎️ Call centers - "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" 🥸 Best friend's uncle - probably a last resort! Thankfully, in-app help is baked into almost every app and tool we use today - but that doesn't always mean it's necessarily helpful. Oftentimes times, scrolling through support(.)company(.)com feels like we're back to the archaic paper manuals from decades ago. You've got better odds of finding Neverland than you do getting an answer. So naturally, you turn your hopes and dreams to the little chatbot widget in the bottom right corner, only to start keyboard smashing "TaLk tO HumAN" relentlessly after about 30 seconds. (Anger management classes are starting to feel like a great self-care expenditure to throw on your Ramp card at this point.) At your darkest hour, when the chips are down and all hope is lost, a savior appears in the form of a superintelligent rack of servers called GPT. In-app help has finally hit an inflection point by taking the absolute worst of help centers (read: enormous amount of superfluous, unstructured, and outdated information) and blending it with the processing and reasoning power of Steven Hawkings in beast mode. Cancel the anger management therapy session because AI-powered user assistance is finally hitting primetime - and it's actually useful. The history of help centers is colorful, full of nostalgia, and a gutwrenching reminder of how tragically difficult it was for the souls who braved the "winter of the help center" era. commandbar.com/blog/history-… May we never have to mail a check to a PO box and wait weeks for user manual edition 1.2.12 ever again. 🙏

HelpHub doesn’t need micromanaging — you don’t need to give it answers to every question your user might have. It can use your training data to figure out how to answer. But some questions you want to influence how it answers - to drive a specific user behavior. Enter answers. With answers, you can “shape” how HelpHub responds to certain questions (and yes, if you’re really, really insistent, it answers a specific way - you can even make it answer using your exact words, but boo micromanagement!!). Shape the bot’s responses and embed CTAs with answers out now.

Click this help button in @Shortcut and a delightfully personalized menu (👋 HelpHub) appears. Personalized based on what you’ve read before and the page you’re on. Draggable so you can follow along without being blocked.

two ideas arguably as unique user themselves. Some love a good hand-hold and guided experience, while others delve right into a product themselves. The problem is how do you solve for both kinds of users, as they're so different. Well...
