I 🫶 Typer so much...
👇 Just a quick preview of what we're building over at @Sevren_ai, building on top of the most wonderful open-source tools: @pydantic AI, @FastAPI, Typer, and @pidotdev.
Expect an early beta release within the next week! And ofc it will be open-source, too💥
Our first Gold Sponsor for FastAPI Conf is @runpod! 🎉
Runpod provides cloud GPUs for training and deploying AI models.
Thank you for being part of the inaugural FastAPI Conference! 🙌

FastAPI now has built-in OpenTelemetry support, natively 📈
No extra code needed.
See how your app behaves in production.
Go and upgrade to "fastapi[standard]" version 0.142.2 ⬆️

Haha, I just implemented tracing with open telemetry in a FastAPI, guess I need to update and refactor now 🙈
Does it also cover database tracing via sqlmodel or sqlalchemy?
DBs are traced by the same OpenTelemetry tools (monkeypatching SQLAlchemy).
You no longer need to configure the FastAPI Instrumentor, but still the DB stuff. FastAPI uses the same OTel API (and SDK) so everything is compatible.
It was implemented having Logfire and Sentry into account, they reviewed it. Could be used together, and their implementation and config could be simplified.
I think this is big. 🌠
FastAPI's objective is to provide what you always need for real prod apps. And not provide what you don't.
You always want metrics, there's just not enough time to always set it all up. Now it's just there, by default.

SQLModel 0.0.47 adds direct support for Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB 🐘
sqlmodel.tiangolo.com
(It was already supported via SQLAlchemy, but now all the SQLModel tests run with each DB)

I've consumed lots of @FastAPI knowledge in the recent days.
And I can't remember the last time I felt this way. The more I learn the more I want to keep going.
Tirelessly!
Cool stuff. Cool technology. Can't wait to try it out in the wild!
Pydantic is the data building block of FastAPI. 🏯
In these past years, it became the data building block of AI... and virtually all Python data validation. 🐍
