Model@Java - Trainer and Author for Software Development with Java - Speak the real Jawa Language

I had a very nice conversation about #Indonesia #Deutschland past and future with Btari Karlinda, model and film star "Catatan Si Boy". Yes, I'm a fan of that radio story and the film... 👍👍👍 Thanks Btari 🙏🙏🙏

I’m doing it to give back to society and help the underserved. I’m retired. The last few years of my career I was in senior leadership positions in big tech (Google and Facebook.) — My code contributions during those days were nearly zero. I started building a few months out of retirement. My first app was to answer the interview question I asked while running AR systems software for Facebook/Oculus: “Reimagine Blue Apron for a world where AR glasses are everywhere”. My current project is Apache 2 licensed and is focused on meeting the needs of non-verbal children. I believe that where a child lives shouldn't decide whether they're heard. Fact: Enjoying the software development process is gone. Getting the result to your users faster is becoming really cool, agility 1000x.

Unpopular opinion: In the era of AI-based software development, SDD with AI, microservice architecture, Java, Spring Boot and Vaadin are the best choices.

Clean Code == No Reading Code. ☺️
People seem shocked that the author of Clean Code doesn't read code anymore. But that should not be surprising. Why did I write Clean Code? What is the goal of keeping code clean? To get it out of the way of the real job -- thinking.

Asking for a friend: Does anyone use Claude Code to completely do their tax return? 😅 Bank accounts, tax returns, all those mysterious documents... 😅

Why do we still need GH CI? Let the agent run the CI for you locally and directly deploy to production. The chance of having a bug is very small…
It’s a fierce fight between CI and GitHub on what slows me down. Time to rethink how we work. (love GH tho and fully see their struggles!)

I would build developer tools like IDEs… 😅🤣
I’m testing several different ways to make money on the side 🤑 Current bets: 1. Starter package for new businesses: website, domain, email, app for offers, business card 2. AI workshops for small business owners 3. Personalized kids’ “My First ABCs” and “My First Numbers” physical products 4. Mobile app I’m building with @jessyka_boat that I’m not telling you about yet 👀 Which one do you think will take off first? Place your bets 😂

Fact: All codes written by AI have fewer bugs than those written by developers.

#n8n vs. #Anthropic How can n8n have that valuation???

After today’s #OpenAI event, I’d say #Anthropic and its overall product portfolio are definitely more valuable.

The most ridiculous thing is that all those agents still use TypeScript and JavaScript environments… Only a few are written in #Java or other faster, more secure languages.
The most ridiculous thing about the AI-coding age is that in the last 20 years programmers accepted otherwise all the kind of shit: terrible frameworks, languages, layers of complexity everywhere, everything super slow. Very very few protested, since destroying the field didn't involve their paycheck.

You can have speed and nice look with #Java. github.com/lofidewanto/java-…
Been running a beta version of Campfire rewritten in Rust today! The code itself is still ugly as sin, and 6x as verbose, but the conversion was free*, and I never had to look at the Rust directly, so this is awesome 🤩 github.com/basecamp/once-cam…

🤣🤣🤣 There are a lot of problems with #TypeScript… So stay safe with #Java — you won’t have to rewrite anything. 🤣🤣🤣
We’re rewriting the Angular compiler in Rust 🦀 (partially)! Meet ngp (Angular Preprocessor): a hybrid compiler decoupling our transforms from TypeScript using Oxc, readying Angular for TypeScript 7 & native tooling. Read the deep dive: medium.com/@angularteam/an-u… 🛠️

$META has already switched free users to shared VMs. Your data isn’t safe, in case you didn’t know.
Yo Muse randomly called me Arjun today and then started gaslighting me and stereotyping me

At the end, the killer app for iPhone Duo! A play thing for rich people... 😂
Duo-Man offers the complete walkman experience on the iPhone Duo. Open the Duo to pick and 'insert' the cassette, Close the Duo to start listening. Yes, I actually recorded the button clicks and static noise from a real Walkman! It was fun making this at @bitrig hacks today.

Still remember the time when I said, “Oh, I need to extend the code, and it’s not good quality. I need to rewrite it…” Thanks to AI, we don’t need to read the code anymore, so we don’t have to rewrite it just because it doesn’t match our Geschmack… 😂 100x more productive. 🤣

😅 Study CS: learn the fundamentals and concepts. They’ll matter more than ever. Simply knowing how to code will be useless. No more junior devs—just CS graduates who understand the fundamentals and work with AI agents.
junior developers shouldn't be allowed to use AI coding tools for the first 1-3 years of their work. just as an electrician's apprentice does the menial jobs and learns from their mentor, developers should do the same developing "code smell" and intuition is so important
